Exceptional Contribution to STEM Education Award |
Description: This award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to furthering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education in K through 12 grades or colleges and universities by donating time, expertise, public support or other specific contributions that improve students and/or teachers, professors commitment to STEM education and professional careers. |
Criteria: Nominee should reflect one or more of the following criteria:
- Recognized by an educational institution for making significant contribution to STEM education
- Achieved quantifiable results working through industry or government to support STEM education
- Significantly promoted STEM education via presentations, books, articles, or other activities
- Worked to increase STEM graduation rates in disadvantaged communities
- Successfully built bridges among communities such as small/large business, government and academia to best focus available resources
- Nominee may be an individual or group/team
- Demonstrates a commitment to AFCEA's mission, values and activities
