TECHEXPO to hold career fair at AFCEA/USNI West 2012

Free job fair to take place January 24 in San Diego

FAIRFAX, VA— AFCEA International and the U.S. Naval Institute are pleased to announce that TECHEXPO will hold a career fair on the first day of their West Conference in San Diego, California. As demand for employees with Government and Military experience continues, the TECHEXPO hiring event at West 2012 will offer a richer experience for all attendees. Defense contractors, federal agencies, government service companies and others will interview applicants for hundreds of available positions. The job fair will take place during the first day of West 2012 on January 24, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center. Writing Competition for Cyber Conflict Case Studies

For Immediate Release December 15, 2011


FAIRFAX, VA - AFCEA International, the Cyber Conflict Studies Association (CCSA) and the Atlantic Council have collaborated to create a cyber conflict history case studies contest. Up to six prizes of up to $1,000 will be awarded for the best submissions. The call for entries begins December 15, 2011, and the deadline for entering the competition is June 1, 2012.
The contest comprises three entrant categories: university students, military service members and professionals who do not qualify in either of the first two categories. Prizes will be awarded in each group, and authors must specify which they are entering when submitting their papers.

Expands Cybersecurity Education

AFCEA Signs MOU with U.S. Coast Guard

Fairfax, VA – AFCEA International announced today that it has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Coast Guard which provides a framework for technical interchange between the two organizations. The Coast Guard, and more specifically the C4I Service Center, will leverage AFCEA resources for providing market research, identifying technology trends, and raising awareness of ongoing initiatives.

AFCEA Expands Teacher Education Scholarships

Supporting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Studies

For Immediate Release February 17, 2011

FAIRFAX, VA – Calling the nation’s declining numbers of science, technology, engineering and math students “one of the greatest challenges facing America,” AFCEA International and the AFCEA Educational Foundation are increasing the number of scholarships available to support those preparing to teach a STEM subject in an American middle or secondary school. The increase from 35 to 50 annual scholarships of $5,000 each comes only one year after AFCEA launched the initiative.

FAIRFAX, VA — The AFCEA Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Teachers Scholarships. Funded by a $200,000 grant from AFCEA International, 35 students will receive $5,000 scholarships for the 2010-2011 school year. The students are pursuing education degrees or licensures for the purpose of teaching a STEM subject in a U.S. middle or secondary school.
