AFCEA TECHNET LAND FORCES SOUTH EVENT COMES TO

TAMPA CONVENTION CENTER

“Connecting Joint & Coalition Partners for the Next Fight”

FAIRFAX, VA—AFCEA International returns to the Tampa Convention Center July 10-12 with its TechNet Land Forces South conference and exposition. The TechNet Land Forces conference series recently evolved from and replaces the annual LandWarNet Conference. The operational theme “Connecting Joint and Coalition Partners for the Next Fight” focuses on how the DoD teams with Joint, Coalition, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs), and Interagency Organizations to overcome the tests we will face in the future. This conference will not only look at the missions of deployed forces, but also how the U.S. protects the Homeland Borders. DoD, government, industry, and academia speakers will address critical topics and focus on the challenges of working with Joint, Coalition, and NGOs to ensure the command and control is effective and safe throughout the operating spaces.

 

Conference speakers and panel participants will voice their points of view and experiences, allowing attendees to benefit from their knowledge and candid discussion. Featured speakers include:

  • Lt Gen Bradley A. Heithold, USAF, Vice Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command
  • LTG Susan S. Lawrence, USA, Chief Information Officer/G-6, U.S. Army
  • MG Karl R. Horst, USA, Chief of Staff, U.S. Central Command
  • Mr. John A. Wilcox, Director, Communications Systems and Chief Information Officer, U.S. Special Operations Command
  • Maj Gen (Sel.) Michael J. Kingsley, USAF, Vice Commander, Air Force Special Operations Command
  • BG Lawrence Wayne Brock, III, USAR, Deputy Commanding General, 335th Signal Command (Theater)
  • MG Dennis Moran, USA (Ret.), Vice President, Defense Communications and Electronics, Harris Corporation

In addition, three panel sessions will provide attendees with opportunities to question experts about the latest policy and technology issues:

  • What is the Communications Landscape 5 Years Out and How Does the DoD Prepare for Change?

  • Are Joint and Coalition Forces Ready to Team for Reconstruction and Beyond?
    Moderator: Maj Gen Chip Chapman, CB, Senior British Military Advisor, U.S. Central Command
     

 

Attendees may also see, touch and try out the latest defense and information technology technologies from more than 200 exhibitors.  Fortune 500® companies, small businesses, and Tampa-based organizations will showcase hundreds of technologies and solutions, including: communication systems, electronic warfare equipment, information systems security, intelligence gathering systems, satellite communications, weapons systems and much more.
