Experts Discuss Changes to Acquisition Processes

The Honorable Frank Kendall, undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics, delivers the symposium opening keynote address at the AFCEA Acquisition Research Symposium.

Frank Kendall, undersecretary of defense, acquisition, technology and logistics, shared his views about the state of acquisition processes at the AFCEA Acquisition Research Symposium held last week in Monterey, California. Kendall, who believes in the importance of communicating as fully as possible with industry, spoke at the 11th annual symposium, an idea-exchange forum among scholars and practitioners of public sector acquisition.

Some of the ideas discussed during this event will be further explored during AFCEA's Defense Acquisition Modernization Symposium 2014, August 5-6, at the Ronald Reagan Building, Washington, D.C. Kendall will open the symposium, which will include workshops and breakout sessions with the goal of providing the U.S. Defense Department with specific recommendations about how to improve the procurement process.
