| Description: |
Big data projects are found all around us, and
many of us have one attached to our hand all day.
Apple¿s personal assistant technology, Siri, began
as a big data project in the Pentagon laboratory,
priding itself on the ability to collect, store,
analyze and disseminate practically any data you
throw at it ¿ structured or unstructured. But Siri
isn¿t the only government big data project that
has recently gained traction. Last March, the
White House announced that the federal government
would be contributing $200 million to support its
Big Data Initiative, which promotes big data
projects and technologies.
Through the implementation of big data programs,
agencies are looking to increase efficiencies and
productivity, make faster and more informed
decisions, and protect national security. The Big
Data Technology Symposium will create a business
case for pilot programs, looking at the complete
lifecycle of big data ¿ collection, storage,
analysis and taking action.
Join AFCEA Bethesda and speakers from leading
federal agencies on March 12, 2013 at the JW
Marriott in Washington, DC for a look at the
business case surrounding big data projects and
the resources, scientists, analysts and technology
needed to complete them.
