Event Time: 11.00-14.00
Event Organizer: The Hague Chapter
Event Sponsor: National Police Force
Description: The aim of the project is to develop a conceptual and technological framework for a comprehensive framework of serious gaming for the Dutch national police, enabling police officers to continuously visit the so called 25/7 environment where they can inform, learn and experiment the total spectrum of police duties. The aim of 25/7 is the creation of the 'alternate reality' of gaming and simulating challenges for its users. As serious gaming and simulation should kick off with the ambition to continuously motivate professionals to return to a challenging, virtual, alternative reality on a day-to-day basis, it makes sense to introduce actual reality in the gameplay, using ┐transreality┐┐ to increase immersiveness and relevance. Transreality is the generic term for the concept of creating an overlap between an existing reality (physical) and a digitally simulated counterpart of that reality (virtual), either visibly or invisibly.
