Pandemics, Bioterrorism, and International Security

Registration is now open for the Pandemics, Bioterrorism and International Security professional education summer course at George Mason University on July 22-24, 2013.

This three-day, non-credit course introduces participants to the challenges facing the world at the intersection of public health and national security. The course is designed for professionals and academics in public health, life sciences, industry, international affairs, emergency management, law enforcement, and national security who have responsibilities for preventing, preparing for, or responding to pandemics or bioterrorism. The course faculty are internationally recognized experts who have been extensively involved with research and policymaking on public health, biodefense and national security issues.

Register by May 15 for a discounted registration rate. Discounts also available for GMU alum and groups of three or more. For more information and to register, visit ocpe.gmu.edu/PBIS.html

Submarine School and Platform Tour Southern New England Chapter

The AFCEA RI Chapter has arranged a special event with the US Navy to tour selected Naval Submarine School trainers and to visit an operational nuclear submarine as part of a US Navy┐s orientation and familiarization on the submarine forces and its role within the national defense structure. Guests are reminded that photography is not permitted.
