Al Mink, National Security Strategy for SRA International, is responsible for the systems approach to growing SRA’s business in complex IT systems and related mission/logistics services.
Mr. Mink’s previous industry leadership positions include CTO/COO for the Systems & Software Consortium, an industry-funded organization tackling the toughest systems and software engineering challenges. Mr. Mink also served as Vice President, Defense & Intel, Unisys Corporation
Col USAF (Ret) Mink’s government responsibilities spanned OSD, Joint, and USAF. He reported to most senior DoD leadership in duties as Executive Officer to the Vice Chief of Staff and as Senior Military Assistant to the Undersecretary of Defense. Mr. Mink led source selection advisors for multi-year $100M contracts. As Chief of all USAF IT Initiatives for AF CIO, he implemented enterprise IT initiatives throughout the USAF. He is a Gulf War Veteran and combat-tested pilot with 3,000 flight hours.
Mr. Mink is active in industry associations, including Past President of Northern VA Chapter of AFCEA, Chairman of AFCEA International Government Outreach Committee. He serves on the Systems Engineering Committee of NDIA. He served as Past President and Chairman of region’s Enterprise Forum and on National Science Foundation’s SBIR Phase I & II panels – both organizations further technical innovation and entrepreneurship. He is on the Advisory Council for the Entrepreneur Center of NVTC, and is a member of CTO Round Table. He is an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional.
Mr. Mink has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from MIT, an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon, two recent Fellowships from MIT & Stanford, and is pursuing PhD in Systems Engineering at GMU, studying under Dr. Andy Sage and Prof Paul Strassmann, former DoD CIO.
Al enjoys travel, skiing, and cycling. He’s part of the USAF Cycling Team and leads the Loudoun County Cyclists.
