Science Applications International Corporation has received a task order by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office - Enterprise Information Systems to provide engineering support to help maintain and enhance the Biometrics Automated Toolset - Army (BAT-A) system. The contract is valued at more than $37 million if all options are exercised. BAT-A devices collect fingerprints, iris scans, facial photos and biographical information of persons of interest and store information in a searchable data base, facilitating the use of biometrics for intelligence exploitation.
