Scalable Network Technologies Incorporated was recently awarded a project from the U.S. Defense Department's Test & Evaluation/Science & Technology Program for project StealthNet, which will provide a real-time, hardware-in-the-loop capability for simulation of cyber threats to the entire net-centric infrastructure. StealthNet is designed to address an existing gap in the Defense Department's testing infrastructure to realistically test the vulnerabilities and resilience of friendly force communications against sophisticated cyber attacks. StealthNet will provide the fundamental science and technology advances to mitigate this gap and includes a transition plan for the resulting capability to be incorporated in the U.S. Army's testing infrastructure.

Inmarsat Navigation Ventures Limited, London, England, is being awarded an $18 million contract to develop and certify a transceiver terminal for the Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service provided by the I-4 constellation that is capable of operation from onboard a low earth orbit satellite; make appropriate modifications to the BGAN network to support space-based terminal equipment; support the integration of the space-based BGAN terminal with a government demonstration satellite; and support the on-orbit connectivity via the BGAN network for the demonstration satellite mission. ITT Integrated Electronic Warfare Systems, Clifton, New Jersey, is being awarded a nearly $10 million contract for investigations of anomalies; software engineering; systems engineering; software and firmware maintenance; support tools and facilities maintenance; documentation; and hardware maintenance and upgrade software support for the electronic warfare jammers AN/ALQ-165 and AN/ALQ-214. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy and for the governments of Australia, Switzerland, Finland, and Taiwan under the Foreign Military Sales program. FLIR Systems Inc., North Billerica, Massachusetts, is being awarded an $8 million contract for non-warranty repairs and spares for the maritime forward looking infrared radar; high-power microscopic field; and MicroStar systems. These systems are to provide maritime crafts, ground vehicles, and unmanned aircraft with all-weather, day/night, high-resolution, stabilized, forward-looking infrared thermal imaging capability to augment existing optical and radar sensors by imaging enemy forces on land, at-sea and in the air, particularly during periods of darkness and poor visibility.
