The U.S. Navy established the Navy Cyber Forces (CYBERFOR) today at the Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek-Fort Story in Norfolk, Virginia. Vice Adm. H. Denby Starling II, USN, assumed command of CYBERFOR.

The U.S. Army has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation a contract with a potential value of $550 million to continue the modernization and training of the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG). Under the contract, the company will provide U.S. Army based doctrine and military training as well as logistics and support services to contribute to the SANG's ability to fulfill its mission with self-sustained command, control and operational capabilities.
The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command has awarded General Dynamics American Overseas Marine a $27.2 million operations and maintenance services contract. Under the contract, the company will provide full service operations and maintenance for seven Navy large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off vessels. Services include crewing, engineering, maintenance, procurement and provisioning.
A major U.S. intelligence agency has awarded CSC a five-year contract valued at $27 million to provide cyber services. Under the agreement, the company will ensure that systems are capable of defending against cyber attacks by providing vulnerability analysis to identify potential computer network threats and penetration testing to evaluate network security.
The U.S. Army has awarded Rockwell Collins a three-year, $9.1 million contract to provide maintenance and field service support for the Ramstein Air Base satellite communications teleport operated by the U.S. Air Force. Under the contract, the company will provide maintenance services for the teleport and provide remote monitoring of U.S. Convoys in Iraq.
