Raytheon Company has received a $2.3 million modification to a previous firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of 53 fiscal 2010 Tomahawk composite capsule launching system capsules. Under the contract, awarded by the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, work will be performed at more than 11 different locations in the United States with an expected completion date of February 2012.
Tactical Communications Group (TCG) has been awarded a U.S. Navy contract to provide realistic Link 16 training software for the Navy's West Coast EA-6B/EA-18G training squadron at Whidbey Island Washington Naval Air Station. Under the contract, the company will train pilots and ground operational personnel on datalink tactics, techniques, and procedures using TCG's ground tactical datalink system.
L-3 Communications, EOTech Inc., has received a $25 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide an optical sighting system for the M4A1 carbine to support the U.S. Special Operations Command's weapons accessories program. Under the contract, awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, L-3 will develop the optical sighting system, which will increase operational effectiveness of the M4A1 carbine, M203 grenade launcher, and other special operations forces small arms. Completion is expected by May 2015.
The Missile Defense Agency has awarded the John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) a cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to a previously awarded total contract of $10 million. Under the modified agreement, APL will continue work on advanced technology initiatives by providing technical support to systems engineering and integration for assessments, studies and analyses of command and control, battle management and communications, fire control, missile engineering, combat systems, and space component and space systems.
