Sons and Daughters in Touch (SDIT) will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Washington, D.C., June 18-20, including a special ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, also known as The Wall, on Father's Day, June 20, at 10 a.m. SDIT members and others who lost their fathers in military conflicts will lay 2,000 roses at the base of the memorial.
KVH Industries has received a $2 million order from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to equip Rafael's remote weapon stations with enhanced, dual-axis DSP-4000 fiber optic gyros. Under the terms of the contract, KVH will integrate the fiber optic gyros within the weapons stations to provide them with critical optical and weapon stabilization capabilities and increase their accuracy and effectiveness.
The U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded S4 Inc. an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity Global Battlestaff and Program Support contract. S4 will function as a subcontractor to prime contractor SRA International, Incorporated. With all options exercised, the multi-award contract has an estimated value of $1.5 billion over five years, with S4 providing global special operations-unique services and expertise.
An $8.5 million firm-fixed-price contract has been awarded to Textron Systems Corporation for eight command and control armored security vehicles; 72 extended personnel carriers; three years of spares support for all 80 vehicles; 80 English/Arabic operator manuals; five English/Arabic maintenance and parts manuals; one English/Arabic CD of manuals; and two field service representatives for logistics, maintenance and training support for 24 months. The U.S. Army Contracting Center awarded the contract.
