Alion Science and Technology has been awarded a $31 million five-year contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) to provide information technology and software development expertise in support of Navy ship design programs. Alion will help the NSWCCD expand its Advanced Ship and Submarine Evaluation Tool and enhance the center's Leading Edge Architecture for Prototyping Systems software application.
BAE Systems has been awarded orders worth $66 million by the U.S. Army for continued production of thermal weapon sights. The thermal weapon sights allow soldiers to see deep into the battlefield in darkness and through smoke, fog and other obscurants, helping soldiers detect, identify and engage targets at increased ranges.
Raytheon Company has received a $23.5 million U.S. Navy contract to adapt the Dual Band Radar developed for the Zumwalt-class destroyer for installation on the future U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). Raytheon will deliver DBR-supporting equipment hardware and software designs to meet the installation and integration requirements of the CVN 78 class of ships.
Booz Allen Hamilton and the U.S. Air Force are modifying a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for $10 million. This action will provide for systems engineering and integration support to the Military Satellite Communications Wing, Space and Missile Systems Center, in support of the Global Broadcast Services Program and the Joint Terminal Engineering Office.
Booz Allen Hamilton has been awarded a three-year, $120 million delivery order for information technology services support for the Army Materiel Command (AMC) under the Strategic Services Sourcing contract. Booz Allen will provide systems engineering and integration services to help transform the Army's enterprise logistics business. Specifically, Booz Allen will work to consolidate and centralize hosting environments, helping AMC realize cost reductions and increased service levels. In addition, Booz Allen will design and create information dashboards and common operating pictures for operations centers, giving commanders access to more accurate data faster and enabling decision superiority across the command.
Raytheon Company has received a $24.3 million contract for continued production of its ALE-50 line of towed decoys. Towed decoy systems enhance aircraft survivability by acting as a preferential target for many types of missiles. The U.S. Air Force Warner Robins Air Logistics Center awarded the contract.
Stanley Incorporated has been awarded nine task orders by the U.S. Army Intelligence Center (USASIC) totaling $8 million over the next five years. Stanley will assist the USAIC's Battle Command Battle Lab by providing subject matter expertise and program managers to manage the development of new ground sensor systems and prototypes. Stanley also will provide combat-proven all-source intelligence subject matter experts to conduct a comprehensive warfighter information capabilities assessment for the USAIC Requirements Directorate, developing and assessing the tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination process for all intelligence disciplines. Stanley also will work with USAIC's Doctrine Directorate to develop and publish focused doctrine products that support the current global war on terrorism and future military operations.
Alion Science and Technology has received a U.S. Air Force contract worth a total ceiling value of $8.6 million to assess shortfalls in future weapons systems and to plan, develop and analyze Air Force electronic warfare (EW) capabilities. Alion will provide the Air Force Materiel Command and Air Force EW Life Cycle Management Group with EW research and associated technical analysis to enable capability planning, development analysis and sustainment.
Harris Corporation has received a series of new orders totaling $6 million from the U.S. Defense Department for its RF-7800W high-capacity line-of-sight radio. Harris will deliver RF-7800W radios to the U.S. Army for use in a range of missions, including in support of the Multinational Division North Iraq. Separately, the U.S. Marine Corps is buying an additional quantity of RF-7800W radios as part of the wireless point-to-point system.
DRS Technologies Incorporated has received a follow-on order of $32.7 million for electro-optical subassemblies for the Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3) program. The Raytheon Company is the prime contractor. LRAS3 is a multi-sensor infrared system for Stryker, HMMWV and MRAP vehicle platforms. It enables real-time detection, recognition, identification and geo-location of distant targets 24 hours a day.
