Hughes Network Systems LLC has announced a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to study network-centric enterprise architecture validation of Internet protocol networking with the Regenerative Satellite Mesh standard and the SPACEWAY 3 system. Under this CRADA, Hughes and DISA will perform research and development that supports overall Internet protocol convergence as the basis for seamlessly integrating U.S. Defense Department satellite communications networking and information needs with the Global Information Grid.

CACI Awarded $60 Million Contract to Support Airborne Sensors for U.S. Army Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate
CACI International Incorporated has been awarded a $60 million prime contract to continue the development, maintenance and operation of experimental airborne sensors for the U.S. Army's Research Development and Engineering Command Communications-Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate. CACI's support focuses on airborne sensors developed for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, with increased emphasis on sensors designed for use on unmanned aerial vehicles.
Northrop Grumman Corporation has received a $97 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the U.S. Army to procure, modify and deliver 12 Hunter MQ-5B Unmanned Aerial Vehicle aircraft; six One-System Block II ground control stations; eight tactical common data link, ground data link terminal sets; two sets of ground support equipment; and four sets of spare parts.
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has won a contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center - Pacific to evaluate emerging technologies for shipboard navigation, sensors and systems. The contract has a potential value of $94 million if all options are exercised. SAIC will research, test and evaluate new technologies for shipboard command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
Lockheed Martin has been awarded the Facilities Development and Operations Contract at the Johnson Space Center. The contract is worth up to $977 million if all options are exercised. Services will include the development, sustaining engineering, operations and maintenance of facilities supporting training, flight design, flight planning, reconfiguration and real-time operations for human space flight programs.
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a prime contract by the Department of the Air Force to provide research and development of new infrared countermeasure technologies to help protect U.S. military aircraft. This single award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract will support the Air Force Research Laboratory Electro-Optical Warfare Technical Analysis Effort II Program. The contract has a potential value of $45.6 million if all options are exercised.
Northrop Grumman Awarded Contract for Joint Enterprise Department of Defense Intelligence Information System Infrastructure Software
Northrop Grumman Information Technology is being awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for $177 million. This effort will accomplish the delivery of Joint Enterprise Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) Infrastructure (JEDI) software and DoDIIS Trusted Workstation (DTW) software. This effort will include requirements definition analysis, systems engineering, development, integration management, quality control, requirements definition analysis, systems engineering, development, integration management, quality control, familiarization, integration/interoperability testing, security and system operation and administration.
General Atomics is being awarded a cost-plus-fee-term contract for $177 million. This contract includes all programs management; urgent repairs and services; logistics support; configuration management; technical manual and software maintenance; engineering technical services; contractor engineering technical services; contractor engineering technical specialists (formerly field support representatives); contractor inventory control point (formerly depot supply support) and spares management; and other services for the Predator/Reaper MQ-1 and MQ-9 Unmanned Aircraft System programs.
