DRS Awarded Satellite Communications Contract in Afghanistan

DRS Technical Services Inc., Herndon, Va., was awarded a $30,271,266 hybrid firm-fixed price, cost-plus fixed-fee and cost reimbursable multi-year contract to operate control and maintain satellite communications between the continental United States and worldwide locations. It will also provide help desk and field operations support. Work will be performed in Rock Island, Ill., Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Germany. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W52P1J-14-C-0026).

Three Firms Compete for SatCom Task Orders

Globecomm Systems Incorporated, Hauppauge, New York; DRS Technical Services Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia; and L- 3/3Di Technologies Limited Liability Corporation, Hanover, Maryland, are each being awarded an indefinite- delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price, multiple award contract, with a cumulative value of $17,001,463 to provide commercial-off-the-shelf satellite network and communications equipment and other services. Each contractor will be awarded $8,333 at the time of award. These contracts include options, which, if exercised, could bring the combined cumulative value of these multiple award contracts to an estimated $85,007,313. These three contractors may compete for the delivery orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contracts. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, South Carolina, is the contracting activity.

Two Firms to Provide International Information Assurance Support

DRS Technical Services Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia, and M. C. Dean Incorporated, Dulles, Virginia, are each being awarded a $16,600,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price multiple award contract for the support of the electronic security systems, information assurance, and engineering network system programs for government facilities in the European, Middle Eastern, African, Southwest Asian, and Central Asian regions. These contracts include options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the individual contracts to an estimated $94,700,000.  Work will be performed entirely outside the continental United States and is expected to be completed by March 2017, of all options are exercised. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, South Carolina, is the contracting activity.

Three Firms Receive $362 Million from U.S. Special Forces Command

Booz Allen Hamilton Incorporated, McLean, Virginia; Dell Services Federal Government, Perot Systems Government Services Incorporated, Fairfax, Virginia; and DRS Technical Services Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia, were each awarded a $362 million, multiple-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-price and cost-plus fixed-fee line items for Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contracts (SITEC) specialty services in support of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), which is the contracting activity. Under the SITEC Specialty Services contract, the contractor will assist the government in performing the daily operations necessary to facilitate the command's ongoing ability to effectively and efficiently optimize delivery and performance of specialty services to sustain and maintain global enterprise information technology specialty services environment.

Eight Companies Awarded Potential $183 Million Sustainment Contracts

DRS to Provide Satellite-based Wireless Service in Afghanistan

DRS Technical Services Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia, was recently awarded a $7 million contract to provide management, supervision, manpower, equipment and supplies necessary to provide satellite-based wireless service for morale, welfare, and recreation purposes to three locations within the Helmand province of Afghanistan. The locations are Camp Leatherneck, Camp Delaram and Camp Dwyer. Leatherneck Regional Contracting Center, Helmand province, Afghanistan, is the contracting activity.
