Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has received an initial $105 million contract award as part of a three-year contract by the U.S. Army Sustainment Command to supply various types of nonstandard (non-NATO) ammunition for the security forces of Afghanistan. If all options are fully exercised, the contract value could potentially exceed $200 million.

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has received a follow-on production contract valued at $9.7 million for M228 practice grenade fuzes. If all options are exercised, the total value of the contract would be worth approximately $50 million.

ATK Integrated Systems is being awarded a $32 million contract for the technology demonstration phase for the Joint and Allied Threat Awareness System for the design, development and demonstration of a prototype for an advanced missile warning system to be installed on U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft to increase survivability in hostile environments.

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Contracting Center, Rock Island, Illinois, to continue operating the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant for an additional four years. Under the new contract, ATK will continue to supply small-caliber ammunition through September 2013. The Army also awarded ATK $481 million in orders under the new contract for production of 5.56mm, 7.62mm, and .50-caliber ammunition and to continue work to modernize the Lake City facility.

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has awarded United Space Alliance a $257 million contract to perform subcontractor support to ATK for NASA's Ares I and Ares 1-X programs through the design, development, test and engineering phase. The contract includes engineering, deceleration system development and technical Kennedy Space Center operations support for Stage I activities.

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has been awarded a $14.4 million contract by the Colombian Air Force to modify and deliver three Medevac-capable aircraft to Colombia's Health and Social Services Ministry. The Ministry will use the aircraft for emergency medical evacuations of both civilian and military personnel.

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) has received a $90 million contract from Lockheed Martin to produce solid rocket propulsion systems for all three stages of the U.S. Navy's Trident II (D-5) Fleet Ballistic Missile. Under the terms of the annual contract, ATK will continue to supply Trident solid rocket propulsion systems to the Trident II (D-5) Missile System Prime Contractor, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company.

ATK has received a $55 million Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract from the U.S. Navy for the advanced anti-radiation guided missile (AARGM). The contract is for missiles, containers, spares, support/special test equipment and required production transition activities. Under terms of the contract, ATK will provide the weapon systems for use on Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18C/D aircraft.

Alliant Techsystems and Goodrich ISR Systems Division were awarded a contract to produce the first operational U.S. Air Force ORS satellite, designated ORS Sat-1. The contract was awarded by the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center's Space Development and Test Wing. ATK will provide the spacecraft bus systems to Goodrich, which, as the satellite prime contractor, will integrate them with its payload.

ATK Mission Research is being awarded a cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for $26.1 million. The contractor shall accomplish all the effort necessary to design, fabricate, install and test the Space Threat Assessment Testbed (STAT) System to meet all specification requirements (one lot). The STAT will create a realistic space environment to perform developmental and early operational testing of space hardware for the U.S.
