JTRS AMF Contract Awarded

The U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Command has awarded a $766 million prime contract to Lockheed Martin (www.lockheedmartin.com) for system development and demonstration of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Airborne Maritime Fixed Station (AMF) program.

The AMF aspect of JTRS focuses on fixed and rotary wing aircraft, ground installations, ships and submarines. It will be a key part of the Global Information Grid as it will link fixed bases with more than 160 types of tactical platforms.

Lockheed Martin’s JTRS AMF team includes BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. Work will be conducted at locations in Scottsdale, Ariz.; San Diego, Calif.; Tampa, Fla.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Gaithersburg, Md.; St. Paul, Minn.; Wayne, N.J.; Charleston, S.C.; and Chantilly and Reston, Va.
