L-3 to Provide Submarine Photonic Masts

L-3 KEO, Northampton, Massachusetts, is being awarded an $11,120,335 contract modification for two photonics mast systems for installation on SSN 788 and SSN 789 submarines, spare photonics mast sensor, and associated engineering services. The photonics mast is a non-hull penetrating electronic imaging subsystem of the command and control system. The photonics mast incorporates visible, infrared, and electronic support measures sensors and stealth features that will provide new capabilities for attack submarines. The Naval Sea System Command, Washington, D.C., is the contract activity.

Lockheed Provides Submarine Situational Awareness

Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors, Liverpool, New York, is being awarded a $13,124,804 contract modification to exercise an option for the procurement of four low-cost conformal array (LCCA) production units and engineering and technical services. The LCCA is a passive planar array mounted on the aft submarine sail structure that is integrated with the acoustic rapid, commercially available off-the-shelf, insertion AN/BQQ-10 system to provide situational awareness and collision avoidance for improved tactical control in high density environments. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed to Produce Antisubmarine Warfare Systems

Lockheed Martin, Liverpool, New York, is being awarded a $14,949,173 contract modification for the production and support of multi-function towed arrays for the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 antisubmarine warfare combat systems. The MFTA is the next-generation passive and active sonar receiver. It affords several enhancements to the AN/SQR-19 Tactical Towed Array System allowing greater coverage, increased capability/reliability and reduced obsolescence. Multi-function towed array significantly contributes to the capability of surface ships to detect, localize, and prosecute undersea threats and is a critical sensor to a combat systems suite. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Awarded Shipboard Electronics Contract

Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems, San Diego, California, is being awarded a $55,064,485 contract modification for the integrated shipboard electronics for LPD 27, consisting of: engineering control system; magnetic signature control system; ship control system; navigation data distribution system; shipboard wide area network; wire-free portable communication system; integrated voice communication system; sensors; Marine Corps support equipment; and surface search sensor system (AN/SPS-73). ITT to Modify U.S. Navy Radar Systems

ITT Corporation, Electronic Systems, Radar, Reconnaissance, and Acoustic Systems, Van Nuys, California, is being awarded a $13,279,090 contract modification for AN/SPS-48G(V) radar modification kits. The AN/SPS-48 series of radars is installed on Navy ships to provide a long range, three-dimensional air picture. The modification kits will provide radar obsolescence and availability recovery addressing previously identified supportability and maintainability issues in the existing fleet population of the AN/SPS-48 onboard Navy ships. Lockheed to Meet Urgent Need for Countermine Technology

Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors, Syracuse, New York, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $45,566,659 cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract for Shipboard Mine Neutralization System-SeaFox (SMNS-SF) integration, testing and production; operational AN/SQQ-32 Airborne Mine Neutralization System-SeaFox (AMNS-SF) refurbishment and overhaul; and Atlas SeaFox neutralizer rounds delivery. Lockheed Martin is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the SMNS-SF and AMNS-SF systems, and is only source capable of upgrading and integrating systems with the Atlas SeaFox neutralizer onto the host platforms in the time required to meet urgent operational need. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Bechtel Provides Nuclear Propulsion Under $360 Million Contract Modification

Lockheed Martin, Syracuse, New York, is being awarded a $15,450,907 contract modification for fiscal 2012 engineering services in support of the Navy's AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 Undersea Warfare Combat System. Sechan Electronics to Support Cooperative Engagement Capabilities Program

Sechan Electronics Incorporated, Lititz, Pennsylvania, is being awarded a $64,207,078 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for signal data processor - Sierra (SDP-S) production units and engineering support services in support of the Cooperative Engagement Capabilities (CEC) program. The SDP-S incorporates the Sierra II cryptographic chip to meet cryptographic modernization requirements and uses commercial-off-the-shelf components to provide an open architecture CEC system. The SDP-S provides the core of the CEC system providing the processing capability for sensor track fusion. The SDP-S assemblies are used on CEC shipboard, airborne and land mobile platforms to provide a composite network  picture. Concurrently, the company is being issued the initial firm-fixed-price delivery order in the amount $13,765,500 for 84 SDP-S assemblies.
