Raytheon Awarded Shipboard Electronics Contract

Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems, San Diego, California, is being awarded a $55,064,485 contract modification for the integrated shipboard electronics for LPD 27, consisting of: engineering control system; magnetic signature control system; ship control system; navigation data distribution system; shipboard wide area network; wire-free portable communication system; integrated voice communication system; sensors; Marine Corps support equipment; and surface search sensor system (AN/SPS-73). The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC, is the contracting activity.

ITT to Modify U.S. Navy Radar Systems

ITT Corporation, Electronic Systems, Radar, Reconnaissance, and Acoustic Systems, Van Nuys, California, is being awarded a $13,279,090 contract modification for AN/SPS-48G(V) radar modification kits. The AN/SPS-48 series of radars is installed on Navy ships to provide a long range, three-dimensional air picture. The modification kits will provide radar obsolescence and availability recovery addressing previously identified supportability and maintainability issues in the existing fleet population of the AN/SPS-48 onboard Navy ships. Modification kits are expected to increase operational availability and decrease operating and support costs. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed to Meet Urgent Need for Countermine Technology

Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors, Syracuse, New York, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $45,566,659 cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract for Shipboard Mine Neutralization System-SeaFox (SMNS-SF) integration, testing and production; operational AN/SQQ-32 Airborne Mine Neutralization System-SeaFox (AMNS-SF) refurbishment and overhaul; and Atlas SeaFox neutralizer rounds delivery. Lockheed Martin is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the SMNS-SF and AMNS-SF systems, and is only source capable of upgrading and integrating systems with the Atlas SeaFox neutralizer onto the host platforms in the time required to meet urgent operational need. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Bechtel Provides Nuclear Propulsion Under $360 Million Contract Modification

Lockheed to Support Undersea Warfare Combat System

Lockheed Martin, Syracuse, New York, is being awarded a $15,450,907 contract modification for fiscal 2012 engineering services in support of the Navy's AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 Undersea Warfare Combat System. The AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 is a surface ship combat system with the capabilities to search, detect, classify, localize and track undersea contacts; and to engage and evade submarines, mine-like small objects, and torpedo threats. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Receives Nearly $108 Million Modification

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $107,992,068 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract modification to exercise options for Acoustic Rapid Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) engineering services. A-RCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing. Sechan Electronics to Support Cooperative Engagement Capabilities Program

Sechan Electronics Incorporated, Lititz, Pennsylvania, is being awarded a $64,207,078 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for signal data processor - Sierra (SDP-S) production units and engineering support services in support of the Cooperative Engagement Capabilities (CEC) program. The SDP-S incorporates the Sierra II cryptographic chip to meet cryptographic modernization requirements and uses commercial-off-the-shelf components to provide an open architecture CEC system. The SDP-S provides the core of the CEC system providing the processing capability for sensor track fusion. The SDP-S assemblies are used on CEC shipboard, airborne and land mobile platforms to provide a composite network  picture. Concurrently, the company is being issued the initial firm-fixed-price delivery order in the amount $13,765,500 for 84 SDP-S assemblies. Combat Systems of the Future Contract Modified

Advanced Systems/Supportability Engineering Technologies and Tools, Manassas, Virginia., is being awarded an $11,439,232 modification under a previously awarded contract to exercise options for Phase III Small Business Innovative Research topic number N05-149, "Combat System of the Future." These services will be rendered as needed to extend and apply previous efforts that focus on manning requirements, operator cognition, automation, data fusion, processing, technology evolution and combat system development applicable to Navy submarines, surface and air platforms. Rite Solutions Receives Funds for Combat System of the Future

Rite Solutions Incorporated, Pawcatuck, Connecticut, is being awarded a $14,404,724 modification to previously awarded contract. This contract is a phase III small business innovative research topic number N05-149, "Combat System of the Future," to perform research, development, and engineering services. Rite Solutions will apply unique humans systems integration processes leading to command decision modules and supporting infrastructures, command and control center configurations, and other technical support work associated with topic N05-149 applicable to Navy submarines, surface, and air platforms. Lockheed Martin to Improve Remote Vehicle Reliability

Lockheed Martin Corporation, Riviera Beach, Florida, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $52,741,962 cost-plus-incentive-fee letter contract for the accomplishment of the Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle Reliability Growth Program (RMMV RGP). The purpose of this RMMV RGP effort is to improve the mean time between operational mission failures. The contract will require a comprehensive development and test program that supports the RMMV RGP. Testing shall be conducted to verify the system complies with RMMV system requirements and is prepared for installation on and operations from the littoral combat ship in preparation for developmental test/operational assessment program testing. The RMMV RGP systems engineering effort includes: critical systems reviews and subsequent design reviews, use of predictive reliability tools; build spiral development with in-water testing to assess progress and potential areas for reliability growth development; installation of RMMV reliability upgrades; and all ancillary support.
