Combat Systems of the Future Contract Modified

Advanced Systems/Supportability Engineering Technologies and Tools, Manassas, Virginia., is being awarded an $11,439,232 modification under a previously awarded contract to exercise options for Phase III Small Business Innovative Research topic number N05-149, "Combat System of the Future." These services will be rendered as needed to extend and apply previous efforts that focus on manning requirements, operator cognition, automation, data fusion, processing, technology evolution and combat system development applicable to Navy submarines, surface and air platforms. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Rite Solutions Receives Funds for Combat System of the Future

Rite Solutions Incorporated, Pawcatuck, Connecticut, is being awarded a $14,404,724 modification to previously awarded contract. This contract is a phase III small business innovative research topic number N05-149, "Combat System of the Future," to perform research, development, and engineering services. Rite Solutions will apply unique humans systems integration processes leading to command decision modules and supporting infrastructures, command and control center configurations, and other technical support work associated with topic N05-149 applicable to Navy submarines, surface, and air platforms. Lockheed Martin to Improve Remote Vehicle Reliability

Lockheed Martin Corporation, Riviera Beach, Florida, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $52,741,962 cost-plus-incentive-fee letter contract for the accomplishment of the Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle Reliability Growth Program (RMMV RGP). The purpose of this RMMV RGP effort is to improve the mean time between operational mission failures. The contract will require a comprehensive development and test program that supports the RMMV RGP. Testing shall be conducted to verify the system complies with RMMV system requirements and is prepared for installation on and operations from the littoral combat ship in preparation for developmental test/operational assessment program testing. The RMMV RGP systems engineering effort includes: critical systems reviews and subsequent design reviews, use of predictive reliability tools; build spiral development with in-water testing to assess progress and potential areas for reliability growth development; installation of RMMV reliability upgrades; and all ancillary support. BAE Awarded Pulsed Power Research and Development Contract

BAE Systems, Land and Armaments Division, Minneapolis, Minnesota, is being awarded an $11,658,980 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and development activities associated with Integrated Power Systems power load modules design whose applications include pulsed power loads for future surface combatants. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Awarded $161 Million Modification for Acoustic Sensor Technology

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $161,267,324 cost-plus-incentive-fee modification to previously awarded contract for Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) engineering services. This contract is being incrementally funded. The contract provides funding for the design and development of A-RCI and common acoustics processing for the United States submarine fleet and for foreign military sales. A-RCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon to Provide Sensor Netting System to United States and Australia

Raytheon Network Centric Systems, St. Petersburg, Florida, is being awarded a $67,407,373 modification to previously awarded contract for design agent and engineering support services in support of the Cooperative Engagement Capabilities (CEC) Program. CEC is a sensor netting system that significantly improves battle force anti-air warfare capability by extracting and distributing sensor-derived information such that the superset of this data is available to all participating CEC units. CEC improves battle force effectiveness by improving overall situational awareness and by enabling longer range, cooperative, multiple, or layered engagement strategies. This contract action combines purchases for the U.S. Navy, and the government of Australia under the Foreign Military Sales Program.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

General Atomics to Develop Pulsed Power Technology

General Atomics, San Diego, California, is being awarded a $12,288,073 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and development activities associated with integrated power systems power load modules design and pulsed power loads for future surface combatants. General Atomics will provide the research and development of an advanced integrated power systems power load module that may be used for pulse forming networks that could power future lasers, railguns or radars. The initial effort will include further refinement of their unique approach to the concept, documenting how the approach could be eventually implemented in a shipboard configuration to meet projected pulsed loads powering needs. The concept will also be used to implement energy storage on the future design that may be used in a multi-purpose manner, allowing the energy to be used for the weapon system and for shipboard powering. General Atomics will apply their unique concept approach to a set of notional performance expectations developed by General Atomics in conjunction with the Navy.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Progeny Systems Program Moves to Phase Three

Progeny Systems Corporation, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded an $11,007,288 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification for phase three engineering and technical support services in support of Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Topic N03-220, "Extensible After Action Review Acquisition, Retrieval and Storage System." The concept for this SBIR is to identify technologies that can be used to address emerging non-propulsion electronics system network administration training and maintenance support requirements while concurrently supporting test data collection and analysis requirements. This procurement will use the prototype products, processes, and methodologies developed by Progeny Systems under the SBIR phases one and two efforts. The processes and prototype products developed will apply to air, surface, and undersea warfare combatants. Progeny Systems will also procure analogous technology products that result from the engineering studies and engineering development models as needed. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
