Elbit Awarded Israeli Simulation Contract

Elbit Systems Ltd., Haifa, Israel, announced today that it was awarded an Israeli Ministry of Defense contract, in the amount of approximately $23 million, for the operation and maintenance of its ground simulators in use by the Israeli ground forces. The 5-year contract includes a variety of simulators, both fixed and mobile, dedicated to training for tanks, armored combat vehicles, driving simulators, intelligence training and other applications.

Cubic to Provide Simulation System to Israel

Cubic Simulation Systems Inc., Orlando, Fla., is being awarded a $19,930,555 modification to a previously award firm-fixed-price, foreign-military-sales (FMS) contract for the procurement of Israeli Defense Forces Engagement Skills Trainer 2000 Plus Systems and related services. The Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity. 

Israeli Company to Provide Battle Management System to Australia

Elbit Systems Ltd., Haifa, Israel, was awarded a contract from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) for the supply of Battle Management Systems (BMS) for the Royal Australian Navy's landing craft. The contract is in an amount that is not material to Elbit Systems. The systems are to be integrated into landing craft installed on board the Canberra Class Amphibious ships (LHD). The watercraft will enable transport of troops and equipment from the LHDs to the shore including where there are no fixed port facilities and will allow communication and connectivity with the Infantry Forces in joint operations.

DRS Supports C2 Infrastructure in Afghanistan and Other Countries

DRS Technical Services, Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia, was awarded a $6,300,000 time-and-materials contract modification for the engineering and installation support to command and control information technology infrastructure capabilities. Work will be performed in Qatar, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Korea, Germany, Israel and various countries in South America, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 8, 2012. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, Illinois, is the contracting activity.

Elbit Receives Israeli Digital Army Program Contract

Elbit Systems Ltd., Haifa, Israel, recently announced that it was awarded a $40 million order by the Israel Ministry of Defense (MOD) for the follow-on Digital Army Program (DAP). The total value of this phase of the program is approximately $300 million and the additional orders are due to be received subsequently. The DAP enables force coordination at all levels, access to updated situational pictures, improved overall operational capabilities, including survivability and accuracy and more efficient utilization of personnel and other resources. The contract calls for the supply and support of all hardware and software, including command and control stations, data processing and distribution systems.

Elbit to Provide Unmanned Turret Systems to Brazil

Elbit Systems Limited, Haifa, Israel, recently announced that its Brazilian subsidiary, Aeroeletrônica Ltda., was awarded a framework contract, valued at up to 440 million Brazilian reals-approximately $260 million-for the supply of UT30 BR 30 millimeter unmanned turrets to the Brazilian army's land forces, as part of the Guarani Project. The contract calls for Elbit Systems' UT30 BR to be installed onboard a few hundred Iveco 6X6 armored personnel carriers.
