GeoEye Receives $111 Million Cost-Share Contract for Satellite ISR

GeoEye Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia, a leading source of geospatial information and insight, announced the receipt of a $111 million cost-share payment from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). In early June, the company successfully passed a major milestone in their GeoEye-2 satellite's development as part of the NGA's EnhancedView program, triggering this cost-share payment. When operational in 2013, GeoEye-2 will collect at 34-centimeter resolution imagery and will provide cost-effective, shareable imagery for the U.S. government and other customers.

GeoEye to Provide Satellite Imagery to Russia

GeoEye Incorporated, Herndon, Virginia, a leading source of geospatial information and insight, announced that it is working with its Russian partner, ScanEx Research and Development Center, to provide millions of square kilometers of high-resolution satellite imagery to the Russian Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr). To efficiently administer the property rights and data across Russia's vast landscape, Rosreestr is creating a countrywide base map of land properties in the Russian Federation. The base map will have multiple data layers including orthorectified high-resolution imagery, cadastral information (for example, type of ownership, permits, licenses, rights, restrictions, transactions and taxation) and extensive topographic features (natural features representing boundaries). The Russian government will host the completed base map on their portal for viewing by federal and regional government agencies and the public via Web services. The first phase of the contract includes a significant delivery of GeoEye-1 archive imagery to ScanEx. In the second phase, in 2012, GeoEye will collect new imagery of Russia from its GeoEye-1 satellite.

GeoEye to Provide Threat Analysis

GeoEye Analytics Incorporated, McLean, Virginia, is being awarded a potential $22,178,709 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for geospatial analysis, research, and studies. GeoEye Analytics will be performing threat, counter insurgency, and counter terrorism analysis to support intelligence analysis programs and operational organizations. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity.

GeoEye Signs Singapore Ground Station as GeoEye-1 Satellite Imagery Regional Affiliate

GeoEye Incorporated has signed a multiyear agreement with the National University of Singapore to allow the Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP) to collect and sell Earth imagery and related products from its GeoEye-1 satellite.
