ChemImage to Develop System for Screening Vehicles for Explosives

ChemImage Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently announced that the U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Command awarded the company an $811,000 contract for integrating its real-time sensor technology used for standoff detection of explosives into a multi-sensor vehicle screening system. The comprehensive screening system is currently being designed to screen vehicles for explosives. ChemImage Corporation, in conjunction with other detection sensor developers, is working to design a system that will allow military personnel to detect vehicle-borne threats from a safe distance.

Missile Defense Agency Modifies Aegis Contract

The Missile Defense Agency is awarding Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Moorestown, New Jersey, an unpriced change not-to-exceed $12.6 million under contract HQ0276-10-C-0001. A cost-plus-incentive-fee/cost-plus-award-fee with technical schedule performance incentives modification is contemplated. The modification accounts for schedule and within scope adjustments to the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Baseline 4.0.1 development schedule, and accounts for the changes to the installation of the computer program aboard an Aegis cruiser. The Missile Defense Agency, Dahlgren, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman to Support Joint Tactical Ground Station

Northrop Grumman Systems, Azuza, California, was recently awarded a $24 million contract for additional direct productive person hours of engineering services in support of the Joint Tactical Ground Station program. The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
