U.S. Navy to Build Pearl Harbor Control Tower

RORE-ITSI Joint Venture Limited Liability Corporation, San Diego, California, is being awarded $7,379,329 for firm-fixed-price task order HC08 under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple-award construction contract for construction of a ground control tower at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The new ground control tower will consist of a control tower cab, office, break area room, electrical/communications equipment room, elevator and restroom. Included will be site utilities, electrical service and communication distribution from/to nearest available water, sewer, electrical and communication services. Mechanical systems include air conditioning, fire protection/suppression, and ventilation systems. Electrical systems include an integrated notification/fire alarm system. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, is the contracting activity.

U.S. Navy Modifies Energy Efficiency Contract

CH2M Hill Clark Nexsen Energy Partners Joint Venture, Englewood, Colorado, is being awarded a $60 million firm-fixed-price modification to increase the maximum dollar value of an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the exercise of option one on July 27, 2011, for engineering and design services for energy efficiency projects and services. This includes shore facilities and utility systems at various locations worldwide. After award of this option, the total cumulative contract value will be $120 million. No task orders are being issued at this time. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Specialty Center Acquisitions, Port Hueneme, California, is the contracting activity.

Two Firms to Compete for Research and Development Task Orders

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Advanced Technology International, Anderson, South Carolina, are each being awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contract for engineering services located worldwide. The maximum dollar value, including the base period and two option years, for all contracts combined is $45 million. The work to be performed provides for engineering services such as research, development, test and evaluation support, development of designs and concepts and prototypes, development of test plans, test data collection and analysis, project/program planning, project management, development and prototype of equipment/components with performance specifications and metrics for acquisition, preparation of technical reports and manuals, users training, requirement and acquisition documentation, administrative support, and assessment and analytical services. SAIC is being awarded task order 0001 at $184,256 for project support and operational assessment related tasks for the collaborative coalition collection environment joint capability technology demonstration at Camp Smith, Hawaii. These two contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Specialty Center Acquisitions, Port Hueneme, California, is the contracting activity.

Elkins to Construct BAMS and P-8A Training Facility

Elkins Constructors Incorporated, Jacksonville, Florida, is being awarded a $15,057,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a new training facility at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. The proposed new construction will consist of a new Broad Area Maritime Surveillance unmanned aircraft system operator training facility and a new P-8A maintenance training facility.  The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida, is the contracting activity.

U.S. Navy to Build Combat Communications Facilities in Guam

Guam Pacific International LLC, Tamuning, Guam, is being awarded $10,172,938 for firm-fixed-price task order for the design and construction of a combat communications transmission system facility, and a combat communications combat support facility in the Pacific Air Force Regional Training Center at Andersen Air Force Base. The combat communications transmission systems facility will house the transmission systems storage area, satellite communications equipment workstations and training areas, conference/break room, communication room, electrical and mechanical room, and other supporting spaces. Work will be performed in Yigo, Guam. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Marianas, Guam, is the contracting activity.

Suffolk Construction to Build Submarine Sensor Research Facility

Suffolk Construction Company, Boston, Massachusetts, is being awarded a more than $20 million firm-fixed-price contract for construction of an electromagnetic sensor facility at Naval Station Newport. The new facility will support Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport operations related to submarine sensor research, development, testing, and repair. The facility will include submarine sensor research and development laboratories, warehouse and administration spaces, specialized spaces for in-service repair and testing of various submarine sensors, and a five-story periscope tower. Work will be performed in Newport, Rhode Island, and is expected to be completed by August 2013. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic Northeast Integrated Product Team, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

Sauer to Construct Air Defense Operation Center

Hensel Phelps to Construct F-35B Simulation Facility

Hensel Phelps Construction Company, Orlando, Florida, is being awarded an approximate $70 million contract for construction of the F-35B Joint Strike Fighter training facility and training hangar at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. The proposed new construction will consist of a new training and simulator facility and a new multi-story hangar facility. The new training and simulator facility will include flight simulator spaces, training classrooms, briefing and debriefing rooms, network equipment rooms, administrative offices, and mechanical and electrical rooms. The new training hangar will include an aircraft maintenance bay, shop, administrative areas, data network areas, briefing and debriefing rooms, and mechanical and electrical rooms. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida, is the contracting activity.

U.S. to Build Combat Communications Operations Facility in Guam

Guam Pacific International LLC, Barrigada, Guam, is being awarded a more than $7 million contract modification for construction of a combat communications operations facility at Andersen Air Force Base. The work to be performed provides for construction of a reinforced concrete facility that will include a command section, offices, briefing/training rooms, administration area, mechanical and electrical spaces, communications, fire suppression/detection, intrusion detection system, environmental controls, utilities, pavements, parking, associated site improvements, hazardous material abatement, antiterrorism/force protection measures and archeological monitoring and all necessary supporting facilities for a complete and usable facility. Work will be performed in Yigo, Guam, and is expected to be completed by August 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Marianas, Guam, is the contracting activity.
