Rockwell to Provide KC-10 Communication Kits

Rockwell Collins Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been awarded a $15,687,657 firm-fixed-price modification (P00033) to previously awarded contract FA8106-11-C-0006 for KC-10 Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management kits. Contractor will provide funding for 12 kits and 15 installations. Work will be performed at Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Oklahoma City; and Atlanta, and it is expected to be complete by Dec. 22, 2015. Fiscal year 2015 aircraft procurement funds in the amount of $15,687,657 are being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is the contracting activity.

 

FlightSafety Receives KC-10 Training System Contract Modification

FlightSafety Services Corp., Centennial, Colo., has been awarded a $19,876,585 modification (P02A5) to previously awarded contract F33657-01-D-2078 for support of the KC-10 Aircrew Training Systems. The contract modification exercises the seventh program year to provide total acquisition and support for all KC-10 training devices to include Operation and Training System Support Center, Training Management System support, on-site contractor logistics support (CLS), obsolescence and technology insertion, student instruction, CLS on-site maintenance/spares/consumables/repairs, and support equipment maintenance/calibration for aircrew training devices. Contracting activity is the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Rockwell Collins Receives $160 Million KC-10 Avionics Contract

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a contract to provide systems integration and avionics for the KC-10 Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) Cockpit Modernization Program. The contract, valued at more than $160 million over the life of the program, calls for Rockwell Collins to provide the flight management system, displays, data link communications and surveillance capabilities. The KC-10 aircraft is an Air Mobility Command advanced tanker and cargo aircraft designed to provide increased global mobility for U.S. armed forces. Although the aircraft's primary mission is aerial refueling, it can combine the tasks of a tanker and cargo aircraft by refueling fighters and simultaneously carrying fighter support personnel and equipment on overseas deployments.
