Special Operations Command Awards $190 Million Countermeasures Contract

Exelis Inc., Clifton, New Jersey, is being awarded a $190 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide Suite of Integrated Radio Frequency Countermeasure components and related services for the Technology Applications program office and CV-22 program offices. This contract has a five-year base period and a three-year incentive award period. Individual task orders will be funded with operations and maintenance or procurement appropriations under the appropriate fiscal year. U.S. Special Operations Command, Tampa, Florida, is the contracting activity (H92241-14-D-0006).

Exelis to Manufacture Tactical Jamming Technology

Exelis Inc., Clifton, New Jersey, is being awarded a $15,262,451 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the design, engineering analysis, program, manufacture and test of the universal exciter upgrade (shop replaceable assembly redesign) to support the AN/ALQ 99 tactical jamming system used on the EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G aircraft. This procurement is to design and manufacture three components of the universal exciter: the modulation direct digital synthesizer, the direct digital synthesizer and the oscillator switch to eliminate the use of obsolete parts. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy (10 percent), and the government of Australia (90 percent), under the Foreign Military Sales program. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity (N00164-13-G-WM01).

Exelis to Provide Ground Control Approach System to Saudi Arabia

Exelis Incorporated Radar, Reconnaissance and Acoustic Systems, Van Nuys, California, has been awarded a $9,647,241 firm-fixed- price contract for a Ground Control Approach System (GCA). This effort is a new program in support of a foreign military sales case for the Saudi Arabian National Guard. This action will provide a GCA for installation at a Khasham Al An Airbase. The GCA system will be utilized for aircraft approach and landing guidance, including airspace control services in support of air traffic control operations and Saudi Arabian National Guard aviation mission requirements. Work will be performed in Saudi Arabia, and is expected to be completed by June 10, 2024. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, is the contracting activity (FA8730-14-C-0008).

Exelis Awarded $143 Million to Support Communications in Afghanistan

Exelis Systems Corporation, Colorado Springs, Colorado, was awarded a $143,100,534 modification (P00012) to contract W91RUS-13-C-0006 for operations and maintenance support of Title X communications equipment and information systems under the Network Enterprise Technology Command (Army), 160th Signal Brigade and its subordinate units in southwest Asia. Work will be performed in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Bahrain, with an estimated completion date of May 31, 2015. Army Contracting Command, Fort. Huachuca, Arizona, is the contracting activity.

Exelis Provides Counter-IED Systems in Afghanistan

Exelis Inc., Information Systems Division, Herndon, Va., is being awarded a $17,789,717 modification to previously awarded contract (N00174-11-D-0002) for the continued procurement of post-production maintenance support of Navy crew fixed site systems and procurement and support of the transmitting set, counter measure AN/PLT-4 systems. This action fills a requirement for equipment, maintenance and support for the Joint Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (JSEOD CREW) program and for continued maintenance and support, including original equipment manufacturer field service representatives, for Legacy Navy CREW systems. The JSEOD CREW program provides all military explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) services with a new electronic warfare capability to counter the threat from improvised explosive devices. JSEOD protects EOD forces of all services, including those currently located in Operating Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity.

Exelis to Equip Turkish F-16s with Electronic Warfare Pods

Exelis Inc., Clifton, N.J., has been awarded a not-to-exceed $75,281,878 firm-fixed-price, time and material, undefinitized contract award for ALQ-211(V)-9 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS) pod acquisition. The contractor will provide 21 ALQ-211(V)-9 AIDEWS pods, associated support services, support equipment, countermeasures dispensing system integration and spares in support of the Turkish Air Force F-16D Block 50 program. This award is the result of a source-directed, sole-source acquisition and is 100 percent foreign military sales for Turkey. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity (FA8540-14-C-0007).

Exelis Provides Jammers for Jet Fighters

Exelis Inc., Clifton, N.J., is being awarded a $91,701,414 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-12-C-0002) to exercise an option for the manufacture and delivery of 42 AN/ALQ-214(V)4 on-board jammer (OBJ) systems. The AN/ALQ-214(V)4/5 is an OBJ component of the integrated defensive electronic counter measures system. It is a self-protection radio frequency (RF) countermeasures system used by Navy F/A-18C/D/E/F strike fighter aircraft against RF guided surface-to-air and air-to-air threats (missiles). The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting.

Pakistan Procures Electronic Warfare Suite

Exelis Inc., Clifton, N.J., has been awarded a $9,796,591 firm-fixed-price modification (P00004) on an existing contract (FA8540-11-C-0012) for manufacture and delivery of AN/ALQ-211 (V)-9 AIDEWS pod classified and unclassified spares. This award is the result of a source-directed acquisition and is 100 percent foreign military sales for Pakistan. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity.

Exelis Awarded Estonia Radar Contract

Exelis, Van Nuys, Calif., has received a contract valued at more than $8 million to provide transportable, precision ground control approach capabilities to the Estonian armed forces, the company recently announced. The GCA-2020 radar system will enable Estonia Amari Air baseto support NATO exercises, contingencies and humanitarian efforts. 
The solution provides Estonia with a transportable, solid-state, electronically scanning radar providing three functions—primary surveillance, secondary surveillance and precision approach—in a single integrated unit. 

Exelis Receives Research and Development Contract Modification

Exelis Inc., Herndon, Va., has been awarded a $10 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity cost-plus-fixed-fee modification (P00011) for a ceiling increase to an existing contract (FA8750-09-D-0002). The total cumulative face value of the contract is $59,900,000. The contract modification is to maintain support and prevent loss of support for the 120 operationally deployed systems and continue basic development to address operational gaps. The principle purpose is for the research and development, integration, testing, deployment, enhancement, and maintenance of Information Support Server Environment Cross-Domain Sharing capabilities throughout the Air Force, the Defense Department Intelligence Information Systems community.
