EADS To Equip Swiss Military Airfields With Advanced Air Traffic Control Systems

The Swiss government has awarded EADS a contract to install five approach and control systems at Swiss military airfields. The contract is valued at more than 130 million euros and is to be completed by the end of 2016.

EADS Awarded Army Light Utility Helicopter Contract

The U.S. Army has awarded EADS North American Defense a $247 million contract for the service's Light Utility Helicopter program. Under the contact, the company will produce 45 light utility helicopters, 30 medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) mission equipment packages, 30 MEDEVAC B-kits, 30 hoist B-kits, four very important personnel mission equipment packages, 11 engine inlet barrier filters, 34 environmental control units, and 45 airborne radio communications 231s.

EADS To Set Up National Radio Network In Djibouti

Germany's Federal Office of Information Management and Information Technology of the Bundeswehr has awarded EADS a contract to set up a nationwide TETRAPOL radio network in Djibouti. The contract is an extension of the TETRAPOL radio network installed by EADS for the police in Djibouti City as part of the German government's equipment support program in 2008.

Astrium to Provide Satellite Communications for the German Navy

Astrium Services, a subsidiary of EADS, has been awarded a contract by the F125 ARGE, a joint venture of Thyssen-Krupp and Lurrsen, to install satellite communications terminals in the German navy's four new F125 class frigates. The SCOT 6 terminals can operate in the X-band and can be modified for dual X-Ku band options.

EADS Provides Radio Service to Paris Fire Brigade

The French Ministry of the Interior has awarded EADS Defense and Security a contract to extend the ACROPOL radio network to the Paris Fire Brigade. The project completes coverage of the Paris area with secure radio communications based on TETRAPOL technology.
