W.M. Robots to Provide Mine Detectors in Afghanistan

Robots LLC, Colmar, Pa., is being awarded an $18,081,851 modification to previously awarded firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of Vallon mine detectors and consumable spares in support of foreign military sales to Afghanistan. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity.

Insitu Supports ScanEagle in Afghanistan

Insitu Inc., Bingen, Wash., is being awarded a $7,826,247 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for operational and maintenance services in support of the ScanEagle Unmanned Aerial Systems. These services will provide electro-optical/infrared and mid-wave infrared imagery in support of land-based operations in Operation Enduring Freedom to provide real-time imagery and data. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity. 

Navmar Supports Copperhead UAV in Afghanistan

Navmar Applied Sciences Corp., Warminster, Pa., is being awarded a $50,977,258 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee/firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for additional sustainment efforts for existing Copperhead unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) detachments, to include personnel support for training and logistics both in the continental United States and outside the continental United States, as well as a variety of spares and industrial supply type materials required for the repair and maintenance efforts.  Work will be performed in Afghanistan and the Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz., and is expected to be completed in February 2014. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity. 

Navmar to Support Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Afghanistan

Navmar Applied Sciences Corp., Warminster, Pa., is being awarded a $31,284,013 cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract for continued sustainment and establishment of Copperhead Unmanned Aerial Vehicle detachments. This includes the procurement of the 42 TigerShark Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Block III platforms, and up to four ground control stations and associated spares as well as continental United States and outside the continental United States personnel support. Work will be performed in Afghanistan (90 percent), and the Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed in February 2014. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Supports Hunter Unmanned Aircraft in Afghanistan

Northrop Grumman Technical Services, Sierra Vista, Ariz., was awarded a $37,275,169 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification of an existing contract to supply logistics and engineering support for the Hunter Unmanned Aircraft System. Work will be performed in Sierra Vista and Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 14, 2014. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.

General Atomics to Support United Kingdom Reapers in Afghanistan

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, Calif., is being awarded a $42,940,780 cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract for contractor logistics support for the United Kingdom Royal Air Force Phase 1 and 2 for MQ-9 operations. The locations of the performance are Poway, Calif.; Creech Air Force Base, Nev.; Waddington, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. The contracting activity is the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. 

DRS to Provide C4 Capabilities in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait

DRS Technical Services Inc., Herndon, Va., was awarded a $13,100,000 time-and-material contract for the command, control, communications and computer (C4) capabilities throughout the U.S. Central Command Area of Operations. Work will be performed in Afghanistan and Iraq, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 8, 2013. The company also was awarded an $11,375,000 time-and-material contract for the rapid response solutions for command, communications and computer capabilities providing infrastructure and information management systems to the Army. Work will be performed in Rock Island, Ill., Afghanistan and Kuwait, with an estimated completion date of June 8, 2013.  One bid was solicited, with one bid received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, is the contracting activity for both awards. 

Northrop to Support Fire Scout in Afghanistan

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $15,010,161 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for operations and maintenance services in support of the MQ-8B Fire Scout. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, and Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed in November 2013. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity. 

BACN Brings Home Funding for Northrop Grumman

SAIC to Support Sensors in Afghanistan

Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Va., was awarded a $56,275,374 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the services in support of sensor technologies to the Army’s current force architecture. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 25, 2014.  The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Alexandria, Va., is the contracting activity.
