Leonie Industries to Provide Information Operations Support in Afghanistan

Leonie Industries LLC, Pacific Palisades, Calif., was awarded a $48,852,000 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price, option-filled, multi-year contract for media and marketing services in support of the Information Operations Task Force-Afghanistan. The cumulative total face value of this contract is $173,541,529. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of Feb. 5, 2014. The Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity.

FLIR Supports Aerostat Surveillance in Iraq, Afghanistan and Southeast Asia

FLIR Systems Inc., Wilsonville, Ore., was awarded a $14,361,776 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price, multi-year contract for the procurement of repairs and refurbishments and logistical support for sensor components of the Legacy Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment Base, Expeditionary Targeting and Surveillance Systems – combined, Cerebus and Cerebus Lite systems that are fielded in Iraq, Afghanistan and Southeast Asia. The cumulative total face value of this contract is $43,268,391. The Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity.

URS to Support Spectrum Electronic Warfare Department in Afghanistan, Iraq and Australia

URS Federal Technical Services Inc., Germantown, Md., is being awarded a maximum value $18,788,706 fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for engineering, technical and programmatic support for the Spectrum Electronic Warfare Department, which primarily focuses on direct support of airborne electronic defense, airborne electronic attack, maritime, and expeditionary divisions. Tasks include research and development support; system engineering and process engineering; modeling, simulation, and analysis; prototyping, pre-production, model-making and fabrication support; system design documentation and technical data support; software engineering, development, programming and network support; reliability, maintainability and availability; human factors, performance and usability engineering; system safety engineering; configuration management; quality assurance; interoperability, test and evaluation, trials; logistics; supply and provisioning; training; and program support. This contract includes foreign military sales to Afghanistan, Iraq and Australia. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity.  

Exelis to Operate, Maintain and Defend Communications in Southwest Asia

Exelis Systems Corp., Colorado Springs, Colo., is being awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with a maximum value of $127,150,517 for the operation, maintenance and defense of Army communications in Southwest Asia and Central Asia. Work will be performed in Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq and Qatar. The Army Contracting Command, Fort Huachuca, Ariz., is the contracting activity. 

Logos Supports Persistent Surveillance in Afghanistan

Logos Technologies Inc., Arlington, Va., is being awarded an $8,000,994 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for field service representatives, operators, and analysts required to support Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems Kestrel systems deployed outside of the continental United States. The company also is being awarded a $7,154,836 modification to delivery order #0003 under previously awarded basic ordering agreement for the same purpose. The modifications are in support of a Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Project under Topic 072-019 entitled "Wide Area Video Image Storage Techniques." Work will be performed in Afghanistan and Fairfax, Va., and is expected to be completed in October 2013. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity. 

CACI to Support Counter-IED Efforts in Afghanistan

CACI-Wexford Group International, of Vienna, Va., is being awarded a $17,918,192 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for Joint Expeditionary Team Counter-IED (C-IED) operational support services. The contract will provide rapidly deployable expertise in all aspects of C-IED operations to support U.S. forces in Afghanistan. The contracting activity is the Joint IED Defeat Organization Contract Operations, Arlington Va.

W.M. Robots to Provide Mine Detectors in Afghanistan

Robots LLC, Colmar, Pa., is being awarded an $18,081,851 modification to previously awarded firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of Vallon mine detectors and consumable spares in support of foreign military sales to Afghanistan. Insitu Supports ScanEagle in Afghanistan

Insitu Inc., Bingen, Wash., is being awarded a $7,826,247 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for operational and maintenance services in support of the ScanEagle Unmanned Aerial Systems. These services will provide electro-optical/infrared and mid-wave infrared imagery in support of land-based operations in Operation Enduring Freedom to provide real-time imagery and data. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity. 

Navmar Supports Copperhead UAV in Afghanistan

Navmar Applied Sciences Corp., Warminster, Pa., is being awarded a $50,977,258 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee/firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for additional sustainment efforts for existing Copperhead unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) detachments, to include personnel support for training and logistics both in the continental United States and outside the continental United States, as well as a variety of spares and industrial supply type materials required for the repair and maintenance efforts.  Work will be performed in Afghanistan and the Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz., and is expected to be completed in February 2014. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity. 

Navmar to Support Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Afghanistan

Navmar Applied Sciences Corp., Warminster, Pa., is being awarded a $31,284,013 cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract for continued sustainment and establishment of Copperhead Unmanned Aerial Vehicle detachments. This includes the procurement of the 42 TigerShark Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Block III platforms, and up to four ground control stations and associated spares as well as continental United States and outside the continental United States personnel support. Work will be performed in Afghanistan (90 percent), and the Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed in February 2014. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity.
