Raytheon Receives More than $300 Million for Missile Defense Radar

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, of Woburn, Massachusetts, under MDA contract HQ0147-12-D-0005. The total ceiling award value is $307,580,000. Under this new contract, the contractor will perform sustainment efforts to maintain software required to operate the X-band family of radars and Ballistic Missile Defense System test planning, execution and analysis. The MDA, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin to Provide Aegis Spy Transmitter and Other Technologies

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of a sole source cost-plus-incentive-fee with technical/schedule performance incentives contract modification to Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Moorestown, New Jersey. The total value of this modification is $6,578,419, increasing the total contract value from $176,695,539 to $183,273,958. This modification accounts for the award of contract line item numbers (CLINs) 0002 and 0003 for integration of the Aegis weapon system hardware onto skids to include the computer processing suite, spy transmitter and signal processor. Through interface and functional testing the contractor shall demonstrate achievement of various stages of testing to include equipment light off, intra and some inter element testing.

Missile Defense Agency Awards $595 Million Contract

The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is announcing the award of an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract to Teledyne Brown Engineering Incorporated, Huntsville, Alabama under contract HQ0147-11-D-0015. The maximum ceiling value of this action is $595 million in research, development, test and evaluation funds. Teledyne Brown Engineering Incorporated will develop a single objective simulation framework system with a modular, scalable, reconfigurable, and composable architecture to replace the existing digital simulation architecture and hardware-in-the-loop single stimulation framework systems.

Utah State to Develop Missile Defense Technologies under $150 Million Contract

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of an indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory, Logan, Utah, with an award value of $150 million. Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory will work with MDA to provide technology development for electro-optic sensor systems, space rated instrument and payload development data, essential engineering, research, and development capabilities and services in the development of the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory is a university affiliated research center sponsored by MDA as designated by the director of defense research and engineering. The MDA, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

General Atomics to Develop 3-Dimensional Tracking for Missiles Launched from Unmanned Aircraft

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of a indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to General Atomics Aeronautical, Poway, California, with a maximum value of approximately $48 million. General Atomics will work with MDA to provide research and development to demonstrate precision 3-dimensional tracking of ballistic missiles from a long-endurance, high-altitude unmanned air system.

L-3 Wins Nearly $538 Million Airborne Sensors Contract

L-3 Communications Integrated Systems Platform Integration Division, Waco, Texas, is being awarded nearly $538 million for the Airborne Sensors Program. Under this contract, L-3 Communications will provide mission support and operations and sustainment for the High Altitude Observatory I, II and III and the Wide-body Airborne Sensor Platform. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics Award Calls for Supporting MDA Ballistic Missile Defense

General Dynamics Information Technology, Fairfax, Virginia, has received a contract award from the Missile Defense Agency's Engineering and Support Services program to provide infrastructure and deployment services in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System. The five-year, multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a $565 million ceiling value for all awardees; the contract has no initial award value.

Missile Defense Agency Adjusts Aegis Ballistic Missile Contract

The Missile Defense Agency is awarding Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Moorestown, New Jersey, a contract modification with technical and schedule performance incentives for an approximate total value of $34 million for schedule and within scope adjustments to Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Baseline 4.0.1 development and multi-mission signal processor (MMSP) development under two separate contract line items. For 4.0.1, the change accounts for an initial delay in the certification schedule and an adjustment in the test plan originally contained in the 4.0.1 completion contract line item. For MMSP, the increase is associated with an extension to the development schedule to account for alignment with changes to the ACB-12 overall combat system development and integration program plan, and attributable to a delay in delivery of government furnished equipment. The Missile Defense Agency is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Receives Radar Contract Modification

The Missile Defense Agency recently announced the award of a $14 million sole-source contract modification to Raytheon Company, Woburn, Massachusetts. The total contract value is nearly $2 billion. Raytheon will perform the engineering and developmental effort required to maintain software required to operate the AN/TPY-2 radars.

Missile Defense Agency Awards Five Small Business Contracts

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) recently announced the competitive award of five contracts for advisory and assistance services to five small businesses. Each contract has a ceiling of about $861 million. The five companies are: COLSA Corporation, Engineering Research and Consulting Incorporated, and Torch Technologies, all three of Hunstville, Alabama; Millennium Engineering and Integration Company, Arlington, Virginia; and DCS Corporation, Alexandria, Virginia. These companies will provide advisory and assistance services to the MDA Directorates for Engineering, Test, Advanced Technology, and Information Management and Technology Operations. The contractors will assist these directorates in providing engineering, technical analysis and support, scientific, systems engineering, test planning, and test execution activities in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System. The companies will have the opportunity to bid on each individual task order.
