SAIC Receives $27 Million Navy Contract for Information Technology Services

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to provide the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station - Atlantic with Outside Continental U.S. Naval Enterprise Network (ONE-NET) information technology support services for the Europe and Middle East regions. The contract has a potential value of more than $27 million if all options are exercised. Under the contract, SAIC will provide operation and maintenance support for ONE-NET, command and control, coalition and legacy network systems. SAIC also will provide migration support for legacy networks.

SAIC Awarded $37 Million Contract to Support Army Program Executive Office - Enterprise Information System

Science Applications International Corporation has received a task order by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office - Enterprise Information Systems to provide engineering support to help maintain and enhance the Biometrics Automated Toolset - Army (BAT-A) system. The contract is valued at more than $37 million if all options are exercised. BAT-A devices collect fingerprints, iris scans, facial photos and biographical information of persons of interest and store information in a searchable data base, facilitating the use of biometrics for intelligence exploitation.

SAIC Receives $46 Million Contract from Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center - Pacific to provide tactical data link systems support. The follow-on, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a total value of more than $46 million if all options are exercised. Under the contract, SAIC will provide engineering and technical support, including life cycle and systems engineering, integration, testing, configuration management and integrated logistics support.

SAIC Receives Contract for Emerging Technologies in C4ISR

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is being awarded a $33.3 million, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a cost-plus-fixed-fee pricing arrangement for emerging technologies and systems for positioning, navigation and timing for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems. The work includes research, investigation and test and evaluation of emerging navigation technologies, sensors and systems with potential for applicability in the areas of air, ground and shipboard C4ISR system technologies and position, navigation and timing systems.

SAIC Awarded $18 Million Contract by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office to design and develop a sensor inspired by a canine's olfactory system, or sense of smell. The contract has a potential value of $18 million if all options are exercised. The effort is part of DARPA's RealNose Program. The program's goal is to build an artificial "nose" to create a breakthrough detection system with capabilities beyond that of a dog. Under the contract, SAIC will model, design and develop this sensor, which will include subsystems for air/odor intake, detection using olfactory receptors, signal transduction and pattern recognition to identify odors. The sensor could help protect U.S. forces in war zones by detecting explosives and chemical or biological weapons.

SAIC Awarded Two Major Task Orders by Army Aviation and Missile Command

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded two task orders by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command to provide modeling and simulation support to the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center - Systems Simulation and Development Directorate (SSDD). Their combined ceiling value is $160 million if all options are exercised. SSDD evaluates and analyzes performance of new and modified weapon systems and provides technical simulation support for Army program managers and other government agencies. SSDD also conducts weapon systems research, exploratory and advanced development and provides engineering and scientific expertise for the Army.

SAIC Awarded $49 Million Contract by Air Force Research Laboratory - Directed Energy Directorate

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate, High Power Microwave Division, to support high energy research and applications. This indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a six-year period of performance and a total contract value of $49 million. Under the contract, SAIC will develop state-of-the-art systems and advance scientific knowledge in the area of directed energy technology. SAIC will deliver high power microwave components, including sources, portable prime power, pulsed power conditioning systems, antennas and novel sources of high energy density plasmas in an effort to advance the state-of-the-art and scientific knowledge in directed energy and related technology.

Raytheon Team to Provide Navy with Precision Aircraft Carrier Landing System

Raytheon Company has received a $232.8 million contract for the system development and demonstration phase of the global positioning system-based Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program for shipboard applications. JPALS provides all-weather shipboard landing capability to assist the U.S. Navy with pinpoint landing accuracy on aircraft carriers. The team, led by Raytheon Network Centric Systems, includes Rockwell Collins, Northrop Grumman and SAIC. The Raytheon team's solution for JPALS improves safety, lowers the total cost of ownership during the program's life cycle and provides greater flexibility and efficiency.

SAIC Receives $14 Million Responder Knowledge Base Services Contract

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a task order from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide responder knowledge base (RKB) services. The contract could be worth more than $14 million if all options are exercised. The RKB is a web-based information service for the emergency responder community funded by DHS. SAIC will provide expertise to the responder community via the "Ask the Expert" feature of the Web site in addition to updated weekly content.

NASA Extends SAIC Contract Valued at $212 Million

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has extended the Unified NASA Information Technology Services contract with NASA. This 11-month program extension, valued at more than $212 million, raises the ceiling value of the contract to more than $1.1 billion. SAIC will continue to provide information technology services to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and support all NASA centers, including NASA Headquarters and support for NASA's international sites and networks. SAIC will also provide services in support of NASA's wide area network, information technology security, digital television and integrated enterprise management program.
