Five Firms Awarded Autonomous Systems Contracts

Five firms have been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide program and configuration management, technical services, systems engineering, hardware and software development, material analysis, testing, repair, and installation services in support of projects for autonomous and non-autonomous systems, as well as, maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance and information operations enabling technologies. All awardees will compete for task orders during the ordering period. Awardees and potential contract amounts are: Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Annapolis, Md., $64,767,382; DRS Technical Services Inc., Herndon Va., $63,032,636; Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., San Diego, Calif., Science Applications International Corp.,San Diego, $56,761,735; and General Dynamics Information Technology Inc., Fairfax Va., $48,420,344. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.

U.S. Navy Awards Potential $899 Million for Battlespace Awareness

Booz Allen Hamilton, McLean, Va.; CACI Technologies Inc., Chantilly, Va.; Centurum Inc., Marlton, N.J.; L-3 Services Inc., Mount Laurel, N.J.; Lockheed Martin Corp. IS&GS, Herndon, Va.; SAIC Inc., McLean, Va.; and Scientific Research Corp., Atlanta, Ga., are each being awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, with provisions for fixed-price-incentive (firm target) and firm-fixed-price task orders, performance based contract for the procurement of battle-space awareness support services including the development, integration, and test of intelligence, battlespace awareness, and information operations applications and dedicated hardware. The cumulative, estimated value of the base year is $179,912,000. These contracts include options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of these contracts to an estimated $899,560,000. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.

U.S. Defense Department Awards $750 Million in Intelligence Training Contracts

BAE Systems Information Solutions, McLean, Va.; Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio; Booz Allen & Hamilton, McLean, Va.; Cyberspace Solutions LLC Reston, Va; Intrepid Solutions Services Inc., Falls Church, Va.; Prescient Edge Corp., Falls Church, Va.; SAIC, McLean, Va.;  Six 3 Intelligence Solutions, McLean, Va.; and SRA Fairfax, Va., were awarded on Oct. 26, 2012. The award is a multiple-award, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract with a combined maximum ceiling of $750 million over a five-year period ending Nov. 30, 2017. The contract fulfills a full scope of intelligence training requirements. The contracting activity is the Virginia Contracting Activity.

SAIC to Support Sensors in Afghanistan

Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Va., was awarded a $56,275,374 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the services in support of sensor technologies to the Army’s current force architecture. Work will be performed in Afghanistan, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 25, 2014.  The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Alexandria, Va., is the contracting activity. 

SAIC to Deploy Sensor Suite to Afghanistan

Science Applications International Corporation, Surveillance and Reconnaissance and Intelligence System Services, McLean, Virginia, is being awarded a $74,400,000 undefinitized contractual action contract modification for fiscal 2013 operations and maintenance of Angel Fire Spiral 2+ Blue Devil Block I. The location of performance is Afghanistan. The contracting activity is Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. 

DARPA Awards Anti-Submarine Unmanned Vessel Contract

Science Applications International Corporation, McLean, Virginia, is being awarded a $58,485,318 cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to perform Phases 2 through 4 of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel (ACTUV) Program. The contractor will design, construct, and demonstrate a prototype ACTUV vessel. The contractor proposed a trimaran platform: key features and innovations for the vessel, sensors, autonomy and software. This design reflects the results of extensive trade studies conducted by Science Applications International in Phase 1, which validated the suitability of a trimaran platform. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is the contracting activity.

SAIC to Provide Mine Warfare Command and Control Tool

Science Application International Corporation, McLean, Virginia, is being awarded a $9,686,538 cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order under previously awarded basic ordering agreement for the mine warfare environmental aids and library, which provides the mine warfare commander and mine warfare forces with a single tool for the effective command and control of mine warfare. The order includes options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $13,530,185. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington DC, is the contracting activity.

SAIC to Support Network Integration Engineering Facility

Science Applications International Corporation, McLean, Virginia, is being awarded a $21,389,103 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide technical expertise to the Network Integration Engineering Facility providing packaging, integration, environmental qualification design and testing, deployment, and life cycle support for command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence, electronic, and/or computer systems used by the Department of Defense and other agencies. The contract also provides for form-fit-function engineering, design and packaging of commercial-off-the-shelf and government-off-the-shelf products for military applications.  This one-year contract includes two, one-year options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to an estimated $61,999,236. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific, San Diego, California, is the contracting activity.

Several Firms to Support DISA Test and Evaluation Efforts

Alion Science and Technology Corporation, Alexandria, Virginia; TASC Incorporated, Andover, Massachusetts; Science Applications International Corporation, McLean, Virginia; ManTech Telecommunications & Information Systems Corporation/Technical Services Group, Herndon, Virginia; Oberon Associates Incorporated, Manassas, Virginia; American Systems Corporation, Chantilly, Virginia; and Lockheed Martin Corporation, Orlando, Florida, were awarded multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts with cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract line item numbers, for test and evaluation (T&E) support for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Test & Evaluation Executive Office and the DISA Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC), in order to fulfill their DISA T&E mission. The awardees will support tasks to perform a wide range of non-personal services to encompass testing, scientific, engineering, logistic, administrative, purchasing, and ancillary support of the DISA T&E mission. The services will include all support aspects, including the operation and maintenance of the test tools, labs, networks and infrastructure, and administrative support cells. The contracts are funded by fiscal 2012 RDT&E appropriations, with a minimum guarantee face value of $100,000 and a total program ceiling value of $871,417,098. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, JITC Contract Support Section, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, is the contracting activity.

Multiple Firms to Support Anti-Terrorism Efforts in National Capitol Region

Dean Incorporated, Dulles, Virginia; ManTech International Corporation, Lexington Park, Maryland; Science Applications International dba SAIC, McLean, Virginia; and VT Milcom Incorporated, Virginia Beach, Virginia are each being awarded a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, performance-based contract that utilizes fixed-price task orders for the procurement of security engineering support services, which support the operational requirements of high-value Navy and other government activities where security is of high or vital interest located in the National Capitol Region. The services required will include systems engineering, analysis, development, acquisition, integration, installation, testing, software development and maintenance, and integrated logistical support for Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Systems. Each contractor will be awarded $3,571 at the time of award. These contracts include options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of these contracts to an estimated $224.9 million. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, South Carolina, is the contracting activity.
