ManTech Receives Ship Information Systems Contract

ManTech Systems Engineering Corporation, Fairfax, Virginia, is being awarded an $8,852,349 cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-only contract to provide specific systems operation, sustainment and support services for the Navy Ship Maintenance and Logistics Information Systems (SMLIS) program. This contract provides uninterrupted enterprise support to the SMLIS program, including engineering support in the areas of information technology life cycle planning, operations and sustainment, documentation, program management, application technical refresh, testing, training and deployment. This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $39,603,500. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-14-C-4110).

Raytheon Awarded Dual Band Radar Modification

Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), Tewksbury, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $10,271,042 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-05-C-5346) for the execution of Phase II CVN 78 Dual Band Radar, test and evaluation engineering support at the Raytheon IDS Software Development Laboratory and Wallops Island Engineering Test Center Land Based Test Site. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed to Provide Submarine Warfare System to Japan

Lockheed Martin, Mission Systems and Training, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $20,490,657 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-13-C-5225) to exercise options for AN/SQQ-89 engineering services, advanced capability build, technical insertion development and integration. The AN/SQQ-89 is an undersea warfare/anti-submarine warfare combat system that provides surface warships with a seamlessly integrated undersea/anti-submarine warfare detection, localization, classification and targeting capability. This contract involves foreign military sales to Japan (63 percent). The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

AS&E to Provide Mobile Screening Systems to Kingdom of Lesotho

American Science and Engineering Incorporated (AS&E), Billerica, Massachusetts, recently announced the receipt of an order for two ZBV(R) mobile screening systems from a new international customer, the Kingdom of Lesotho. The ZBV systems will screen vehicles and cargo for threats and trade fraud on its border with South Africa to facilitate trade and counter smuggling. The Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) has launched a Customs Modernization Program aimed at simplifying border procedures while speeding up the inspection process.

ESN Supports U.S. Navy C5ISR

Engineering Services Network Incorporated, (ESN) Arlington, Virginia, was recently awarded an additional $7.7 million contract year to provide combat systems engineering and systems integration support to the U.S. Navy. Under this contract, ESN will establish an engineering resource for planning and coordinating the installation of combat system, command, control, communications, computer and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems in aircraft carriers and other strike group or strike force units, including LHA, LHD, LPH and other L-class units. In addition, ESN’s team will evaluate design concepts and develop technical documentation to support those efforts on current and proposed Combat System and C5ISR programs. ESN was awarded the original contract by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC, PHD) on April 28, 2005. With the execution of the fifth award term year, the contract now has a completion date of April 30, 2015, making it a 10-year contract and a total award value of $74 million.

ICF to Support Cyber Network Defense Research

Work will be performed in Adelphi, Maryland with an estimated completion date of May 15, 2017. Army Contracting Command, Adelphi, Maryland, is the contracting activity (W911QX-14-F-0020).

Textron to Develop Mission Control Software for Indian Jaguars

Textron Systems Corporation, Textron Defense Systems, Wilmington, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $17,283,970 modification (P00022) to FA8682-11-C-0044 for the completion of mission control unit software development and aircraft integration for the sensor fuzed weapon. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $310,983,586. The contract modification is for the final phase of sensor fuzed weapon integration to the Indian Jaguar aircraft. This contract involves 100 percent of foreign military sales for India. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Long Range Systems Division, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Awarded GPS Contract Modification

Raytheon Company, El Segundo, California, has been awarded a $22 million modification (P00015) to FA8807-12-C-0012 for software coding and security on the military Global Positioning System (GPS) user equipment contract. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $51,836,354. The contract modification is to mature the software coding of the GPS receiver cards being developed and perform security certification to enable faster fielding of M-code capable GPS receivers to the warfighter. The Space and Missile Systems Center Contracting Directorate, El Segundo, California, is the contracting activity.

Matrix to Research Advanced Sensing

Matrix Research Incorporated, Dayton, Ohio, has been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in the amount of $36,027,000 for research and development of concurrent detection, tracking, imaging, and classification/identification of targets within contested and challenging environments. This will include the development of models, hardware, software, algorithms and techniques spanning basic, applied and advanced research for both active and passive sensing. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8650-14-D-1722).

Xtera to Support Southern Command with Undersea Fiber Optics

Xtera Communications Incorporated, Allen, Texas, was awarded a $31,220,394 firm-fixed-price contract for the delivery of an undersea fiber optic cable. Work will be performed in the Southern Command area of responsibility, with an estimated completion date of December 2015. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO)-National Capital Region is the contracting activity (HC1047-14-C-4018).
