Advanced Design to Support Helmet Sensor Data Gathering in Afghanistan

Advanced Design Corp., Lorton, Va., was awarded an $8,420,987 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for field service technician support to gather data from helmet sensors used to examine mild-traumatic brain injury (concussion). Small Business to Provide Flight Simulation to Kuwait

Aviation Training Consulting LLC, Altus, Okla., is being awarded a $24,988,000 firm-fixed-price contract to provide instructional services in support of the KC-130J aircraft for the government of Kuwait under the Foreign Military Sales program. Services include instruction on operating the KC-130J simulators and aircraft. Work will be performed at Kuwait City, Kuwait and Cherry Point, N.C., and is expected to be completed in March 2017. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting office (N61340-14-C-0007).

General Atomics to Upgrade Remote Split Operations Network

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, Calif., has been awarded a $57,528,900 delivery order (0061) to an existing contract (FA8620-10-G-3038) to accomplish the tasks necessary to fabricate, deliver and/or provide hardware, software, and documentation to support the tasks necessary to upgrade and modify the remote split operations (RSO) network to support internet protocols data standards. This acquisition is for the procurement of 234 Ground Control Station kits, seven containerized dual control segment kits, 25 Squadron Operations Center (SOC) low density kits, five Creech SOC low density kits, six Creech SOC high density kits, 24 relay kits, 71 relay circuit to packet kits, three Creech wide-area network kits, one Cannon WAN kit, 26 WAN LD kits, two Cannon SOC kits, 17 relay rack kits, ten network management kits, and related spares and support equipment. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.

Exelis to Equip Turkish F-16s with Electronic Warfare Pods

Exelis Inc., Clifton, N.J., has been awarded a not-to-exceed $75,281,878 firm-fixed-price, time and material, undefinitized contract award for ALQ-211(V)-9 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS) pod acquisition. The contractor will provide 21 ALQ-211(V)-9 AIDEWS pods, associated support services, support equipment, countermeasures dispensing system integration and spares in support of the Turkish Air Force F-16D Block 50 program. This award is the result of a source-directed, sole-source acquisition and is 100 percent foreign military sales for Turkey. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity (FA8540-14-C-0007).

CSI to Provide Rail Station Surveillance

Critical Solutions International (CSI), Carrollton, Texas, announced today that the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) has selected its Intelligent Video Surveillance Solution to provide advanced video security at selected rail stations within the state’s rapid transit network. The Intelligent Video Surveillance Solution will provide enhanced security and safety for thousands of commuters, as well as first responders, while saving time and taxpayer money, the announcement says. The system notifies safety and security personnel of unusual events such as the intrusion of unauthorized areas, unattended luggage, or loitering. In addition the system stores digital video data that can be rapidly analyzed through customized searches.

Lockheed Martin Supports Korea’s Krypton Reconnaissance Aircraft

The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded Lockheed Martin a $9 million foreign military sales contract to support the Republic of Korea’s Peace Krypton reconnaissance aircraft system. The Peace Krypton system is used for tactical intelligence and is comprised of militarized business jets and ground stations that process data from the aircraft. Lockheed Martin’s sustainment work scope involves maintenance of the aircraft fleet, which includes spare and repair parts, as well as providing support and test equipment for both the aircraft and its fixed and mobile ground stations. Lockheed Martin will also provide software development and software upgrades as needed to modernize the reconnaissance system.

Missile Defense Agency Awards $750 Million Modification

Northrop Grumman Space and Missions Systems, Colorado Springs, Colo. is being awarded A $750 million in-scope contract modification (P00023) to previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to increase the estimated contract maximum from $2.5 billion to $3.25 billion. The contract remains a ten (10) year contract with an ordering period from Nov. 21, 2005 through Nov. 21, 2015. The contract is a hybrid omnibus contract performing predominantly research, development, test and evaluation services for the development of the Ballistic Missile Defense System’s Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications; the support infrastructure including all information technology; facilities; ground and flight test; warfighter wargames and exercises; modeling and simulation; several operational cells including the Ballistic Missile Defense Network Operations and Security Center, the Joint Functional Command Component for Integrated Missile Defense, and the 100th Missile Defense Brigade. Places of performance under the contract are worldwide but mainly support the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center, Colorado Springs, Colo. Also supported are the Missile Defense Agency sites in Huntsville, Ala., the National Capital Region, and Dahlgren, Va. The Missile Defense Agency, Colorado Springs, Colo. is the contracting activity (#H95001-10-D-0001).
