Circle City to Install Fort Rucker IT Infrastructure

Circle City Telcom Inc., Ala., was awarded a $7,870,392 firm-fixed-price contract to complete the installation, and testing of upgrades to the information technology infrastructure at Fort Rucker, Ala. The work will complete the installation, and secure and test upgrades to Fort Rucker's installation information infrastructure. It will install the remaining outside plant core and fiber optic cable, inside plant fiber optic cable terminations, complete site preparation for two communication shelters, and core data node installations. It will also complete data network fielding at the remaining end-user locations, and the cutover and migration of data users to the new installation information infrastructure modernization network. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Arsenal Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W52P1J-14-C-0063).

PacStar Awarded WIN-T Contract

PacStar has announced it has been awarded a three-year, $6.2 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical Increment 1 (WIN-T). The WIN-T contract significantly expands the use of PacStar’s IQ-Core Software by mobile network communications units across the U.S. Army. IQ-Core Software delivers communications management by replacing time-intensive, complex and error-prone manual set-up and management processes for battlefield tactical communications systems with configuration wizards that automate both complex and routine tasks. 

U.S. Army Increases Contract Ceiling for Biotechnologies University

University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), Calif., was awarded a $56,591,679 cost-sharing contract for an extension and ceiling increase modification to maintain the Collaborative Biotechnologies (ICB) University Affiliated Research Center. Services include engineering and research capabilities focusing on research to enable biotechnology solutions that address Army needs through the application of the principles of cross-disciplinary bioengineering sciences. UCSB/ICB is dedicated to performing research at the interface between biotechnology and engineering in order to solve difficult problems in the areas of sensors, materials and systems engineering. Lockheed Martin to Support Rocket Launcher Fire Control Systems

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Grand Prairie, Texas, was awarded $17,658,738 firm-fixed-price contract for life cycle launcher support for Multiple Launch Rocket System High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) Launcher Module and HIMARS/m270a1 launcher fire control systems. Estimated completion date is June 30, 2014. Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal (Missile) Ala., is the contracting agency (W31P4Q-14-C-0057).

General Dynamics Awarded $475 Million WIN-T Contract

General Dynamics C4 Systems Inc., Taunton, Mass., was awarded a $475 million cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for research and development requirements to support the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical Increment 3. Requirements include the fabrication, assembly, and coding of the configuration items necessary to complete the research and development phase for transition to the production and deployment phase. Support includes evolutionary product integration, testing, and evaluation. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., is the contracting activity (W15P7T-14-D-0002).

AAI Supports Shadow in Afghanistan

AAI Corp., Hunt Valley, Md., was awarded a cost-plus-incentive-fee, option-included contract with a maximum value of $126,262,568 to provide logistics and operational support services to the Army and Marine Corps for Shadow tactical unmanned aircraft systems. A portion of this contract includes foreign military sales in support of Australia. Work will performed in Afghanistan. Northrop Grumman to Provide Warning Equipment in Afghanistan

Northrop Grumman, Herndon, Va., was awarded a $13,675,190 cost-plus-incentive-fee, option-eligible, multi-year contract modification (P00022) of contract (W31P4Q-12-C-0029) for the requirement to procure and integrate rocket, artillery and mortar warning equipment to partially replace sense and warn assets in Operation Enduring Freedom. This is in support of foreign military sales to Afghanistan. Performance locations will be Huntsville, Ala., and Afghanistan with funding from fiscal 2013 operations and maintenance Army funds. The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal (Missile), Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.
