Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $107,992,068 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract modification to exercise options for Acoustic Rapid Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) engineering services. A-RCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Awarded $161 Million Modification for Acoustic Sensor Technology

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $161,267,324 cost-plus-incentive-fee modification to previously awarded contract for Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) engineering services. This contract is being incrementally funded. The contract provides funding for the design and development of A-RCI and common acoustics processing for the United States submarine fleet and for foreign military sales. A-RCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corporation, Maritime Systems and Sensors, Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded an approximate $15 million contract modification to design and manufacture hardware for the Acoustic Rapid Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) system improvement and integration program. Lockheed Martin to Provide Sonar System Upgrade Kits

Lockheed Martin Sippican Incorporated, Marion, Massachusetts, is being awarded a potential $235 million contract for the production of MK48 Mod 7 Common Broadband Advanced Sonar System (CBASS) functional item replacement (FIR) kits, engineering services hours, hardware repair support, test equipment, additional spares and production support material. The MK48 Mod 7 kit production program will supply the U.S. Navy with FIR upgrade kits consisting of a guidance and control box, broadband analog sonar receiver, preamplifier, cable assemblies, and guidance and control materials. The CBASS program will provide the MK48 ADCAP Mod 6 torpedo with a wide band sonar system, and the advanced broadband signal processing algorithms, which will allow for enhanced detection and prosecution of shallow water threat targets employing advanced countermeasures. Navy Adds $150 Million to Research Contract

The Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory, State College, has been awarded a $150 million contract modification to increase the contract ceiling, providing up to 1,560,000 additional staff hours to provide research, development, engineering, test and evaluation. The core areas include guidance, navigation and control of undersea systems, advanced thermal propulsion, materials and manufacturing technology, atmosphere and defense communications and other related technologies. Research and development areas include, but are not limited to, missiles, radar, sonar, space, undersea warfare, anti-air warfare, command, control and communications, and other related technologies. BAE to Deliver Upgraded Mine-Hunting Systems

L-3 to Provide Sonar System to Egypt

L-3 Communications Ocean Systems, Sylmar, California, is being awarded a potential $27 million contract for Low Frequency Active Towed Sonar (LFATS) for the Egyptian Navy under the Foreign Military Sales Program. The LFATS is a long-range active/passive variable-depth sonar that consists of an operator console, power amplifier, towed body arrays, and handling system. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C. is the contracting activity.

ManTech Awarded $19.5 Million Contract Support Ship Radiated Noise Measurement

ManTech International Corporation recently announced that it was awarded a $19.5 million contract by the U.S. Navy, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport Division, to provide engineering, programmatic and technical support services for Navy range acoustic test support programs, including the Surface Ship Radiated Noise Measurement and Fleet Sonar Self Noise programs. The contract has an initial one-year period and four one-year renewal options.
