ITT Advanced Engineering & Sciences, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, is being awarded a $455 million contract for the production of up to 5000 Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (JCREW) 3.2 mounted systems to meet urgent requirements of the Department of Defense in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  Mounted JCREW systems are electronic jammers designed to prevent the initiation of radio-controlled improvised explosive devices and are critical to protecting U.S. personnel from the threat posed by improvised explosive devices. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

ITT Integrated Electronic Warfare Systems, Clifton, New Jersey, is being awarded a nearly $10 million contract for investigations of anomalies; software engineering; systems engineering; software and firmware maintenance; support tools and facilities maintenance; documentation; and hardware maintenance and upgrade software support for the electronic warfare jammers AN/ALQ-165 and AN/ALQ-214. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy and for the governments of Australia, Switzerland, Finland, and Taiwan under the Foreign Military Sales program. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, California, is the contracting activity.

FLIR Systems Inc., North Billerica, Massachusetts, is being awarded an $8 million contract for non-warranty repairs and spares for the maritime forward looking infrared radar; high-power microscopic field; and MicroStar systems. These systems are to provide maritime crafts, ground vehicles, and unmanned aircraft with all-weather, day/night, high-resolution, stabilized, forward-looking infrared thermal imaging capability to augment existing optical and radar sensors by imaging enemy forces on land, at-sea and in the air, particularly during periods of darkness and poor visibility. These systems enhance the detection, recognition, identification and tracking targets. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity.

AT&T Wireless Services, Hanover, Maryland, Sprint-Nextel, Lone Tree, Colorado, and Verizon Wireless, Laurel, Maryland, are each being awarded a contract extension to provide nationwide wireless cellular phone service to the Navy.  For AT&T, the estimated amount of the extension for each company is $10 million.  The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, California, is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Company Integrated Defense Systems, Tewksbury, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $59 million modification to a previously awarded contract for CVN 78 dual-band radar common array power system (CAPS) and common array cooling system (CACS) efforts. The purpose of this modification is to procure factory assembly, integration, and test of one ship set of CAPS, one ship set of CACS, CVN 78 dual band radar unique components, and whole-life engineering products for the CVN 78 DBR. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is being awarded an undefinitized contract action with an estimated value of $77 million  for the procurement of 121 AN/AAQ-24(V) 25 Guardian laser transmitter assemblies for installation on CH-53D, CH-53E, and CH-46E helicopters, including associated technical data.  The guardian laser transmitter assembly, a component of the large aircraft infrared countermeasures, is a next-generation directable laser-based countermeasures system for protecting helicopters and some fixed-wing aircraft from man-portable air defense systems.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Sensors, Mitchel Field, New York, is being awarded a U.S. Navy contract potentially valued at nearly $230 million to provide Trident II (D5) strategic systems programs shipboard systems integration; strategic weapon system navigation subsystem; systems design and development; and electrostatically supported gyro navigator refresh.  The Strategic Systems Programs, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Space & Mission Systems Corp., Herndon, Virginia, and Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Virginia, are each being awarded contracts for support services for Enhanced Tactical Automated Security System surveillance, detection and assessment equipment, site surveys, integration, installation and technical support.  If all options are exercised, the contracts will be valued at more than $37 million. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, South Carolina, is the contracting activity.

LRAD Corp., San Diego, California, is being awarded a $6 million contract for integrated acoustic hailing devices, remotely controlled components of the shipboard protection system that provides a key capability to instruct, warn and deter approaching threats.  Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity.

Insitu, Inc., Bingen, Washington, was recently awarded a contract valued at more than $43 million for the engineering, manufacture and development of the small tactical unmanned aircraft system/Tier II unmanned aircraft system III for the U.S. Marine Corps. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.
