ViaSat Inc., has been awarded a U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center contract potentially valued at $29.9 million for tactical data link and satellite communications equipment and engineering support services. The contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy and the government of the Republic of Turkey under the Foreign Military Sales program.
As the U.S. Navy modernizes information systems across the fleet, one organization is responsible for researching, developing and fielding the full range of technologies in the Asia-Pacific region, providing complete life cycle development and support for systems, from concept to fielded capability.
As conflicts become more complex and uncertain in the 21st century, quick pivots to new technologies will become increasingly important. The starting point for this rapid fielding must begin with more frequent, and more relational, lower level warfighter-technologist interaction.
