Boeing to Modify Phantom Eye Prototype Aircraft

Boeing Co., Huntsville, Ala., was awarded a $6,820,626 modification, to cost-plus-fixed-fee contract make modifications to accommodate instruments and payloads on Boeing’s existing experimental Phantom Eye prototype aircraft and gather, analyze, and report flight test data to characterize potential payload environments. The modification increases the total contract value from $2,213,873 to $9,034,499. The Missile Defense Agency, Albuquerque, N.M., is the contracting activity. 

Archer to Build UAV Complex

Archer Western Federal JV, Chicago, Ill., was awarded a firm-fixed-price contract with a maximum value of $16,983,000 for the construction of an unmanned aerial vehicle complex on Fort Campbell, Ky. The Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville, Ky., is the contracting activity. 

Northrop Grumman Awarded $555 Million to Modernize Global Hawk

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Aerospace Systems Sector, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a maximum ceiling $555,600,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for Global Hawk modernization. The tasks on each delivery or task order will fall into, but are not limited to, the following categories:  management, including program, business and technical areas; engineering efforts, including configuration management, data management, reliability, availability& maintainability, and related areas of concern such as technical refresh, diminishing manufacturing sources, etc.; studies and analyses; design, development, integration, test and evaluation; retrofit requirements; and integrated logistics support. The contracting activity is Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. 

General Atomics Continues Gray Eagle Support in Afghanistan

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, Calif., was awarded a $110,261,703 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft Systems product support and fleet sustainment operations. The total cumulative face value of this contract is $354,683,431. Work will be performed in Afghanistan. The Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity. 

Insitu Supports ScanEagle in Afghanistan

Insitu Inc., Bingen, Wash., is being awarded a $7,826,247 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for operational and maintenance services in support of the ScanEagle unmanned aerial systems. These services will provide electro-optical/infra red and mid-wave infra red imagery in support of land based operations in Operation Enduring Freedom and other overseas contingency operations to provide real-time imagery and data. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Northrop Receives Global Hawk Funds

General Atomics to Activate MQ-1/MQ-9 Depot

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, Calif., is being awarded an $18,251,274 firm-fixed-price contract for MQ-1/MQ-9 organic depot activation.  Work will be performed at Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah, Warner-Robins AFB, Ga., and Tinker AFB, Okla., and is expected to be completed by April 4, 2015. The contracting activity is Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. 

Simlat to Provide UAS Training Center for Finnish Defense Forces

Simlat Ltd., Herzliya, Israel, was selected to provide an unmanned aerial system (UAS) training center, including its high-fidelity UAS training systems to the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF), as part of the FDF Mini UAS program. The simulation center will support the new Orbiter Mini UAS fleet, which was selected by the FDF last summer as its future UAS. The program includes the manufacturing and delivery of Orbiter Mini UAS, as well as the development of independent operational, training and maintenance capability.

Ace Engineering to Build Predator Launch and Recovery Element
