Samsung Electronics America, Inc., Ridgefield Park, N.J., and Intelligent Decisions (ID), Inc., Ashburn, Va., have announced that the Samsung Series 7 Slate has been awarded the network slate tablet category contract under the U.S. Air Force Client Computing and Servers blanket purchase agreement. ID and Samsung will deliver the Samsung Series 7 Slate, the first device selected under the new network tablet category, available for deployment at U.S. Air Force bases worldwide.

The U.S. Air Force awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation, McLean, Virginia, two contract modifications totaling $156 million to continue operating and maintaining the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) system in support of overseas contingency missions. The company was awarded a $106 million contract modification to extend the deployment and operation of BACN payloads installed in three E-11A Bombardier Global Express BD-700 aircraft and three EQ-4B Block 20 Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicles. The award supports operations through June 2013.

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation, Herndon, Virginia a three-year, $108 million contract to develop and implement cryptography upgrades as part of the intercontinental ballistic missile cryptography upgrade II engineering and manufacturing development program. The Northrop Grumman-led ICBM prime team is responsible for overall sustainment of the weapon system including development, production, deployment and system modifications.
