DARPA Awards Language Translation Contract to IBM

International Business Machines Corporation, Yorktown Heights, New York, is being awarded a $6,576,024 cost contract for the Broad Operational Language Technology Program. The program has a goal of creating technology capable of translating multiple foreign languages in all genres, retrieving information from the translated material, and enabling bilingual communication via speech or text. Specifically, this contractor will conduct work for activity A, "Genre-Independent Translation and Information Retrieval System," and activity C, "Human-Human Dialogue System." The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is the contracting activity.

Atlantic CommTech to Provide Nuclear Site Intrusion Detection Systems

Atlantic CommTech Corporation, Virginia Beach, Virginia, is being awarded an $11,950,723 firm-fixed-price contract for protective aircraft shelter interior intrusion detection systems and redundant cable for the 498th Nuclear Systems Wing. Atlantic CommTech is performing 100 percent of the work throughout six NATO installations in Europe. Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, is the contracting activity.

CACI to Support Naval Enterprise Resource Planning System

CACI Incorporated - Federal, Chantilly, Virginia, is being awarded a potential $36,734,284 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with cost-plus-fixed-fee and fixed-price ordering provisions to provide functional, highly-technical, professional, analytical, and administrative support services to the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) in support of the Navy's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. The work will include: working engineering change proposal; business process improvement evaluations; testing; and deployment and sustainment of the Navy ERP single supply solution release and other Navy ERP initiatives. Services provided will include: participation on functional teams within the Navy ERP program, the Navy and the Department of Defense, assisting the Navy in resolving differences between commercial standards, cross service and existing Navy business processes by providing functional expertise in Navy business processes; technical and functional architecture support; and training development and execution support. The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the contracting activity.

BAE to Install Radar Warning System on C-130 Aircraft

Mesotech to Provide Weather Observation System

SAIC Supports Night Eagle Surveillance in Iraq and Afghanistan

The award will provide for the Night Eagle System services in support of fielded systems. Work will be performed in Bridgewater, Virginia, Iraq and Afghanistan with an estimated completion date of April 30, 2012. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

Raytheon to Develop Pulsed Power System

Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems, Tewksbury, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $10,110,934 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and development activities associated with Integrated Power Systems power load modules design, and pulsed power loads for future surface combatants. Raytheon will provide the research and development of an advanced Integrated Power Systems power load module that may be used for pulse forming networks that could power future lasers, railguns, or radars. The initial effort will include further refinement of their unique approach to the concept, documenting how the approach could be eventually implemented in a shipboard configuration to meet projected pulsed loads powering needs. The concept will also be used to implement energy storage on the future design that may be used in a multi-purpose manner, allowing the energy to be used for the weapon system and for shipboard powering. Raytheon will apply their unique concept approach to a set of notional performance expectations developed by Raytheon in conjunction with the Navy. The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting activity.

GD to Operate and Maintain C4 Systems in Korea

The 411th Contracting Support Brigade, Services Division, Korea, is the contracting activity.

AeroVironment to Provide Raven Digital Link Systems
