Systematic Receives Contract Extension for Multilateral Interoperability Program

The United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defence has extended its contract with Systematic to continue to provide expert support to the UK's involvement in the Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP). The contract is valued at more than £1 million (nearly $2 million). Systematic provides maintenance for the UK MIP Gateway, the capability for a bilateral United States-UK military interoperability exercise in 2010, support to a UK-French military exercise planned for June 2011, and continued technical support for the UK's membership and contribution to MIP standardization working groups and MIP test events.

RADA Receives Avionics Contract with South American Customer

RADA Electronic Industries Limited recently announced that it has signed a contract for avionics installation design, valued at nearly $4 million. This contract is part of an upgrade program for fighter aircraft run by a South American customer, a program for which RADA also supplies various avionics units. RADA will design the installation of all upgraded units in the aircraft as well as support the customer in the implementation of these upgrades.

IAP Powers Forward Operating Bases in Afghanistan

IAP World Services, Panama City, Florida, was recently awarded $12 million, which exercises the second option, third year of service, for the operation and maintenance of the electrical power grids at Forward Operating Bases Salerno and Sharana. Work is to be performed in northern Afghanistan. Defense Contract Management Agency, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, is the contracting activity.

AeroVironment Supports Puma Unmanned Aircraft

AeroVironment Incorporated, Simi Valley, California, was recently awarded a $17 million contract that establishes not-to-exceed amounts for Puma all-environment capable variant contractor logistics support, training and accounting for contract services in support of Joint Urgent Operational Need Statement CC-0289, entitled, "Unmanned Aircraft Systems for Route Clearance."  U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Raytheon to Provide Jackal Passive Infrared Defeat Systems

Raytheon Company, Indianapolis, Indiana, was recently awarded a $47 million contract for 250 Jackal passive infrared defeat systems as part of the Rapid Acquisition Authority to respond to combat emergencies. Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics Receives $187 Million for Common Hardware Systems

General Dynamics C4 Systems Incorporated, Taunton, Masschusetts, was recently awarded a $187 million contract modification to raise the contract ceiling to $2.68 billion. Items to be procured under this contract are Common Hardware Systems-3. U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command Contracting Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Raytheon to Develop Triple Target Terminator

Raytheon Company recently received a $21 million contract for the Triple Target Terminator (T3) program, which will develop a high-speed, long-range missile that can engage air, cruise missile, and air defense targets. T3 would be carried internally on stealth aircraft or externally on fighters, bombers and unmanned aircraft. T3 would allow any aircraft to rapidly switch between air-to-air and air-to-surface capabilities. T3's speed, maneuverability, and network-centric capabilities would significantly improve U.S. aircraft survivability and increase the number and variety of targets that could be destroyed on each sortie. The enabling technologies are: propulsion, multi-mode seekers, data links, digital guidance and control and advanced warheads. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics to Provide Networks to U.S. Marines

General Dynamics Information Technology, Needham, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $9 million task order MU30 under the U.S. Air Force network-centric solutions contract for dense wave division multiplexing transport networks. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Camp Pendleton, California, is the contracting activity.

Logos Technologies to Produce Prototype Surveillance Systems

Logos Technologies, Arlington, Virginia, is being awarded a $9 million contract modification to develop and produce four prototype 59-mega-pixel persistent surveillance systems for field user evaluation. The Lightweight Expeditionary Airborne Persistent Surveillance System is a lightweight expeditionary airborne persistent imagery surveillance system. The Office of Naval Research Laboratory, Arlington, is the contracting activity.

TeleCommunications Systems to Provide 3-Dimensional Mapping Technology

TeleCommunication Systems Incorporated recently announced that it has been awarded a new order with a ceiling value of more than $9 million to provide 3-dimensional terrain mapping software and database models as well as training and exercises to the U.S. Army. The order is funded by the Program Executive Office Aviation and relates to the continued supply of equipment to the Unmanned Aerial System Project Office and the Small Unmmanned Aerial Vehicle Product Office. This award was made under the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems contract vehicle in support of the Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical.
