Battelle Memorial to Enhance Pentagon Shield

Booz Allen Hamilton Receives $9 Million U.S. Air Force Contract

NASA Extends Engineering and Scientific Services Contract to ASRC

NASA's Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio, has awarded a one-year contract option to ASRC Aerospace Corporation of Greenbelt, Maryland, for technical, engineering and scientific services in the areas of aeronautics, microgravity science, space exploration and related science and technology activities in support of Glenn's Lewis Field and Plum Brook Station, Sandusky, Ohio. The option has a value that will not exceed $50 million and increases the value of the contract to $260 million.

ITT Receives $455 Million for Counter Improvised Explosive Device Technology

ITT Advanced Engineering & Sciences, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, is being awarded a $455 million contract for the production of up to 5000 Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (JCREW) 3.2 mounted systems to meet urgent requirements of the Department of Defense in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  Mounted JCREW systems are electronic jammers designed to prevent the initiation of radio-controlled improvised explosive devices and are critical to protecting U.S. personnel from the threat posed by improvised explosive devices. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

ManTech to Support Defense Information Systems Agency

ManTech International Corporation recently announced that it has received a $23 million contract to support the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Manpower, Personnel and Security Division. ManTech will support the start-up of new DISA facilities at Fort Meade, Maryland, for operations relocating from Arlington, Virginia. Specifically, ManTech will support DISA's security operations by providing full-scope, integrated security services.

Scalable Network Technologies Wins Cyber Simulation Contract

Scalable Network Technologies Incorporated was recently awarded a project from the U.S. Defense Department's Test & Evaluation/Science & Technology Program for project StealthNet, which will provide a real-time, hardware-in-the-loop capability for simulation of cyber threats to the entire net-centric infrastructure. StealthNet is designed to address an existing gap in the Defense Department's testing infrastructure to realistically test the vulnerabilities and resilience of friendly force communications against sophisticated cyber attacks. StealthNet will provide the fundamental science and technology advances to mitigate this gap and includes a transition plan for the resulting capability to be incorporated in the U.S. Army's testing infrastructure.

Inmarsat Receives $18 Million for Broadband Global Area Network

Inmarsat Navigation Ventures Limited, London, England, is being awarded an $18 million contract to develop and certify a transceiver terminal for the Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service provided by the I-4 constellation that is capable of operation from onboard a low earth orbit satellite; make appropriate modifications to the BGAN network to support space-based terminal equipment; support the integration of the space-based BGAN terminal with a government demonstration satellite; and support the on-orbit connectivity via the BGAN network for the demonstration satellite mission. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

ITT to Support Electronic Warfare Jammers

ITT Integrated Electronic Warfare Systems, Clifton, New Jersey, is being awarded a nearly $10 million contract for investigations of anomalies; software engineering; systems engineering; software and firmware maintenance; support tools and facilities maintenance; documentation; and hardware maintenance and upgrade software support for the electronic warfare jammers AN/ALQ-165 and AN/ALQ-214. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy and for the governments of Australia, Switzerland, Finland, and Taiwan under the Foreign Military Sales program. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, California, is the contracting activity.

Lockheed to Develop Highly Integrated Photonic Devices for U.S. Air Force

Lockheed Martin Corp., Eagan, Minnesota, was recently awarded a $7 million contract to design and develop highly integrated photonic devices for transition into current emerging tactical platforms for the U.S. Air Force and will develop key technology to overcome several of the existing constraints with respect to the integration and packaging of the current generation of photonic devices. Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York, is the contracting activity.
