SELEX Wins Colombia Contract to Upgrade Radar

SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, was awarded a contract by the Aeronautica Civil de Colombia, for the upgrading of the radar system set in Cerro Maco, near San Jacinto, in the region of Bolivar. The contract, which has a value of about 5.2 million euros (about $6.6 million), refers to the hardware and software upgrading of the ATCR 22M primary radar and the SIR-M secondary radar.

Corporation for National Research Initiatives to Manage Defense App Store

Boeing to Design Shipboard Free Electron Laser Weapon

The Boeing Company, Huntsville, Alabama, is being awarded a more than $23 million task order for the critical design of a 100-kW class Free Electron Laser (FEL) device to demonstrate scaleability of the necessary physics and engineering for an eventual MW class FEL.  The Navy FEL Innovative Naval Prototype Program will encompass the transition from a demonstrated 14 kW FEL capability, currently at hand, to a weapon class 100-kW class capability, which is intended to provide the physics and engineering information needed to support a MW class FEL device development.  The desired outcome of this effort is to transfer laboratory capability to industry and to assess potential industrial roles in supporting the procurement program for FEL weapon systems. The Navy also wishes to gain insight into industry's longer term interest in participating in the follow-on integration, at a government test facility, or elsewhere, of the FEL device into a complete naval weapon system test bed to validate the concept for shipboard use. The Office of Naval Research, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

SRC to Establish Cyber Security Operations Center for Homeland Security

SRC Incorporated recently received a contract from the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS-ICE) agency with a potential value of nearly $42 million to establish and maintain a Security Operations Center to help protect critical information technology infrastructure. This contract will enable ICE to monitor its information technology assets 24 hours a day and evaluate and respond to cyber security threats. SRC will lead a team to provide innovative cybersecurity solutions, process improvement strategies and best-of-breed technologies for ICE.

U.S. Air Force Awards Lockheed C-5 Infrared Countermeasures Modification

Lockheed Martin Corporation, Marietta, Georgia, was awarded an $8 million contract modification to provide C-5 large aircraft infrared countermeasures Group A hardware and kit assembly. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.

Critical Solutions to Provide Counter-Mine Products and Services

Critical Solutions International Incorporated, Carrollton, Texas, was recently awarded on a $13 million urgent contract for nine vehicle mounted mine detector with mine detonation trailer sets; and 11 vehicle-mounted mine detector with mine detection trailers and accompanying handoff training, operations network training and maintainer training classes. Tank and Automotive Command, Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity.

Integral's Command and Control System-Consolidated Contract Modified

Integral Systems Incorporated recently announced that the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center has awarded the company a more than $1 million contract modification to its Command and Control System-Consolidated contract. Integral Systems will continue to provide its EPOCH Integrated Product Suite to simplify operations by consolidating satellite ground systems. The contract modification includes software development, installation and test support for wideband global satellite communications telemetry and orbital analysis enhancements. Additionally, the modification provides on-site support for remaining advanced extremely high frequency exercises and launches.

The Missile Defense Agency recently announced the award of a contract modification valued at more than $22 million to Raytheon Company Integrated Defense Systems, Woburn, Massachusetts.
