Pennsylvania State to Technologies for Unmanned Systems

The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, was awarded a $34,077,057 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the research and development services in support of electro-optical and infrared technologies; night vision technology; and laser technologies and payloads for unmanned platforms. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, is the contracting activity.

Saudi Arabia Procures Apache Sensor Technologies

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Orlando, Florida, was awarded a $15,276,943 firm-fixed-price contract modification to procure AH-64D Apache modernized target acquisition designation sight/pilot's night vision sensor visible near infrared sight for the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Stara Tech to Provide Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems in Afghanistan

Stara Technologies Incorporated, Gilbert, Arizona, is being awarded more than $22 million for Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems (PGSS) Phase II for the U.S. Army. Stara will fabricate nine additional PGSS back-up systems with wide area surveillance-enabled sensors that are powered through existing renewable energy resources; install electro optical/infrared wide area surveillance on six existing PGSS back-up systems; and install all systems in theater and integrate surveillance data onto PGSS and the Afghan Mission Network/Centrix system. The U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Recieves $42 Million FLIR Production Kit Contract

Raytheon Technical Services Company, Indianapolis, Indiana, was awarded a $42 million contract to provide 65 AN/AAQ 29A forward looking infrared production kits and 15 initial spares in support of the HH-60G helicopter.  Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting activity.

FLIR Systems to Support U.S. Navy Thermal Imaging Efforts

FLIR Systems Inc., North Billerica, Massachusetts, is being awarded an $8 million contract for non-warranty repairs and spares for the maritime forward looking infrared radar; high-power microscopic field; and MicroStar systems. These systems are to provide maritime crafts, ground vehicles, and unmanned aircraft with all-weather, day/night, high-resolution, stabilized, forward-looking infrared thermal imaging capability to augment existing optical and radar sensors by imaging enemy forces on land, at-sea and in the air, particularly during periods of darkness and poor visibility. These systems enhance the detection, recognition, identification and tracking targets. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity.
