The AFCEA Educational Foundation is an independent, non-profit, tax-exempt public charity dedicated to providing educational opportunities and assistance for people engaged in information management, communications and intelligence efforts and fostering excellence in education particularly in the hard science disciplines of Command and Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) and Information Resource Management (IRM).
Since 1982, the Professional Development Center (PDC), an integral division of the AFCEA Educational Foundation, has been offering professional courses on a wide range of topics supporting AFCEA International's guiding vision to advance knowledge in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence and global security. These courses are taught by recognized experts who have practical experience in the disciplines they teach.
The PDC's course offerings are updated every semester to remain current and relevant to better support information professionals serving in government (military and civilian), industry and higher education.
Revenues from the PDC cover the AFCEA Educational Foundation operating costs. All donated funds go to deserving students or teachers. AFCEA International, a professional non-profit association, offers support through the community of military officers, government employes, civilian individuals and corporate sponsors. The Association's activities focus on the skills, equipment and intellectual demands of those people in the fields of C4I/IRM.
