Ann Beckham

Director

Ann C. Beckham has been with the Professional Development Center (PDC) for 10 years, first as Coordinator and since 2002 as Director. Ann oversees all aspects of the production and promotion of the 30+ courses taught twice a year at AFCEA Headquarters, Fairfax, Virginia, and off-site around the world, interfaces with 17 instructors and manages all security arrangments for classified courses.

Ann joined AFCEA in 1991 in a part-time position with Signal Magazine.  In November 1992, she transferred to the Educational Foundation, where she served as Administrator of Scholarships and Awards before joining the PDC.

Before coming to AFCEA, Ann worked in several law offices, was a Navy wife overseas and had her own legal personnel employment agency.

Lauren Riley
Registrar/Marketing Representative

Lauren Riley coordinates student registrations for the PDC.  She serves as the direct contact for course attendees, orders course books, facilitates payments and oversees daily catering.  In addition, Lauren will be a vital force in implementing a marketing plan to increase awareness of the PDC and its courses.

Lauren joined the PDC in March 2008 after working for two years as Associate Communications Specialist and Trade Show Coordinator for Datatel, Inc. in Fairfax, Virginia.  She has experience in employee relations and human resources as well as marketing and sales for local Washington Metro companies.  Lauren graduated from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Human Resource Development.

Fred Rainbow

Vice President & Executive Director

Fred H. Rainbow joined the AFCEA International staff as the vice president for education and the executive director of the AFCEA Educational Foundation in May 2005. Mr. Rainbow came to AFCEA from the U.S. Naval Institute where he had worked for 30 years.  Mr. Rainbow serves on the Secretary of the Navy's Advisory Committee for Naval History and the Board of Trustees of The Naval Intelligence Foundation. He also is a member of the George Mason University C4I Center Advisory Group.

A cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, with a degree in history and social studies, Mr. Rainbow received the Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award in 2002, the Admiral Arthur W. Radford Award for Excellence in Naval Aviation History and Literature in May 2005, and the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award in November 2005.

In addition to being a member of AFCEA, Mr. Rainbow is a life member of the U.S. Naval Institute, Marine Corps Association, Naval Intelligence Professionals, and Naval Aviation Museum Foundation.  Click here for complete bio.
