Course Description:

Cyber Terrorism Hours 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Cyber Terrorism – Increasing one’s pool of knowledge is very important in today’s risk/threat environment.  Given the dynamics associated with the entire cyber domain, continuing education is a must.  Cyber terrorism has emerged as a growing threat to national security.  This is true not just for the United States but many countries around the world.  With over 180 countries connected to the Internet, this technical communications medium is a primary channel for commerce, communications and citizen interaction.  Terrorists have recognized the value of the Internet for recruiting and covert communication, as well as a weapon against the adversaries they despise--they have adapted to the changing times and now pose a cyber threat.  Cyber terrorism examines how these groups could leverage the cyber domain to further their causes.  Leveraging testimony by terrorist detainees, examples of their actions are presented as well as real-world ‘what-if’ cyber terrorism.
