FY07 CHAPTER INITIATIVE PROPOSALS Look for hot links for proposals with International Chapter Proposal: To establish classes for High School students attending military Lyceums that would offer instruction in the rudements of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology to encourage continued study in those disciplines.
U.S. Chapter Proposals: In partnership with the AFCEA sub-Chapter at a local technical college, to establish and host the first annual Technology Olympics for 200-250 students from fifteen local middle and high schools. To provide a Wireless Video Recording System (WVRS) for a local county high school. To provide assistance to four schools with science and technology curricula for disadvantaged students. To sponsor a reception at a national conference on educational robotics and assist local schools with preparations for summer 07 robotics national competition. To expand existing Enlisted Continuing Education program to include grants for those pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees. To purchase iPod equipment for students and teachers in a local Academic Magnet program. To provide additional laptop computers for wounded warriors at Walter Reed and Bethesda medical centers. To provide assistance to six Science Olympiad teams - three high school and three middle school - with preparations for 2008 state tournament. To provide grants to high school science and math programs for supplies, books, etc. to further student excellence. To provide support for two local Robotics clubs - the First Robotics Club and the Botball Club. To provide support for two International Technology Education Association (ITEA) programs - Engineering by Design (EbD) for a high school and Invention, Innovation & Inquiry (I3) for a middle school. To increase the impact of teaching awards and scholarships for a rejuvenatedd Chapter's enlisted personnel and the local high school.
