FY08 CHAPTER INITIATIVE PROPOSALS

International Chapter Proposal:

To provide PCs with internet capability (1 for each of 14 student groups) at a local military training school.

U.S. Chapter Proposals:

In partnership with the AFCEA Educational Foundation, support the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) with two scholarships and two Science Teaching Tools grants. 

To assist four schools with science and technology curricula for disadvantaged students.

To enhance local public school's Robotics program.

To establish a Young AFCEAN scholarship program.

To provide laptops for local middle urban schools.

To provide involvement in a one-week Math and Science Summer Camp for local 9th and 10th graders.

To expand the Science Teaching Tools awards program to local community high schools.

To expand the MATHCOUNTS program recognition.

To help fund ten new Science Olympian teams at 5 high schools and 5 middle schools in preparation for the 2009 state tournament.

To provide grants to high school science and math programs for supplies, books, etc. to further student excellence.

To provide for one additional winner of the Junior Science Fair and Space Program to attend summer Space Camp.

To provide for additional prizes for participants in the Senior Science Fair Program.

To support local science teachers working with First Robotics Clubs and Botball Clubs in grades 5-12.

To increase the impact of teaching awards to needy local high schools.
