Chapter Initiative Grants
PLEASE NOTE: Grant Proposals for FY13 are contingent on the success of the Educational Foundation's Fund Drive this year. PLEASE CHECK BACK
The AFCEA Educational Foundation Chapter Initiatives Grant Program was inaugurated in FY97 with funding provided for five Chapter proposals. In FY09, eleven proposals were received for consideration including one from an international chapter. The proposals ranged from establishing a Science Fair for projects from military high schools, sponsoring 3-day "Rocket Days" for 4th graders, funding 10 new Science Olympian teams for middle and high schools preparing for the 2010 State tournament, and funding Robotics programs for 5th - 12th graders. The Board of Directors approved $45,000 to fund these projects, with an additional $51,800 in matching funds provided by the Chapters for a total impact of $96,800 in Chapter Initiatives in 2010.
